Fabulous view over the Med, bit noisy with view.Posted Nov 11, 2013
Very good old style grand hotel in a great location. Some needed renovations going on but staff excellent and facilities good. We like generally older hotels with character and this one delivers well. Amazing marble staircase !!Wi-fi was a bit intermittent depending on area of hotel but at least fairly fast and free. Great dining room and also bar and terrace overlooking Prominade Des Anglias which as expected is busy and noisy. Fabulous view on ocean side. Our room was basic but adequate and well compensated by the view. Easy walking distance to old town, port area and train station.

Classic hotel on the promPosted Oct 18, 2013
Must have been wonderful 50 years ago but desperately needs refurbishing. Room was hot with no air conditioning due to heating on for the winter. couldn`t open windows because of traffic noise and fumes. Didn`t get much sleep as windows didn`t keep the noise out. The staff where most friendly and obliging and did their best to make us comfortable but the hotel needs to come into this century.

Excellent HotelPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Room with a view (top floor and balcony), the bar for evening drinks on the terrace.
Excellent hotel in a perfect location on the promenade and easy walking distance to main attractions. Water pressure was a little hit and miss, but nothing else to complain about. Lovely room with balcony.

Excellent sized room with lovely balcony overlooking the Promenade des Anglais and Mediterranean Sea. Great location for walking to all of Nice's main attractions and the railway station.

Westminster Is Where It's At!Posted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location; staff courtesy; amenities.
Cons: I wouldn't change a thing. Character is character.
Location: Eat a Le Siecle restaurant, just next door. Wonderful cuisine. Two casinos within easy striking distance. An easy walk to Old Niece! And beach!
Facing the famous Promenade de Anglais, the Hotel Westminster has comfort and character comparable to the notoriously expensive and aloof Hotel Negrescro, just down the Promenade, but at a much more affordable price. Our fourth-floor room, of course, had a beach view. It was clean with the world's largest and most comfortable bed! And a large bathroom, much to our surprise. None of the "smallness hiding as quaitness" usually associated with European hotel rooms. The hotel's appointments smack of tradition and good taste, and the open stairwell is beautifully designed and even merits a photo. The staff were excellent and exceedingly friendly and courteous. Step out the front door, and the Promenade awaits you. Because you are facing the Promenade, you also fact the street separating you from the beach. But the room's double-paned glass panels and a metal shutter at night more than dampen the traffic noise. We're intending to return next year. Don't miss out on this wonderful hotel!

Excellent position on prom.Posted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: Proximity to beach etc.
Cons: Found breakfast room bit dull.
Location: location excellent
Very convenient. Bit disappointed that we could not eat al fresco as on a previous stay, but could understand that it was later in the season.

Perfect location!Posted Sep 14, 2013
Pros: The historic value of the hotel. The beautiful paintings of Nice on the way up the impressive staircase.
Cons: Expensive to go to the private beach, 44 Euros for two. (Chair, towel, umbrella) Public beach-deal with rocks. Hotel could rent mats and towels.
Location: The hotel is nearby everything. You can easily walk to the old section. The beach is right across the street.
We loved our room. It had been remodeled and was very modern with every convenience. Our room had a balcony with two chairs. It was perfect for enjoying the fabulous view of Nice and the Riviera. The hotel staff was wonderful. Everything went smoothly for us. Thank you, Hotel Westminster.

Good Hotel very close to the beachPosted Sep 8, 2013
Location: Close to Nice town centre and most of the restaurants
Staff were generally very pleasant and helpful, though they could have organised Internet access for 1 week rather than asking us to re-register every day, until 4 days through the break when someone realised their mistake. They were happy with children. Breakfast is OK but you'd be better to go to another cafe - coffee was rather stewed, and the bacon and sausages apparently reheated many times (like the coffee). Hotel beach is not free - the cost is the same as any other beach - staff on the beach were unpleasant and discourteous - they do not like small children on the beach!! Plage RUHL about 3-400 metres to the left as one comes out of the hotel is infinitely better and loves babies in buggies + it has a swimming pool for babies!
