Very central

Posted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: Very clean room, Friendly staff. Good breakfast for 8 euros.
Cons: Good shower but you could do with a shower curtain!
Location: Very central. Could see the sea from the balcony. Handy supermarket, very reasonably priced virtually next door.
Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. Easy walk to both the Promenade des Anglais and the railway station for trips to Monaco and Cannes. .

Average hotel

The hotel was about halfway between the train station and the promenade. The room we stayed in did have some flaking from the walls. The bathroom was nice just didn't have a shower curtain so need to be very careful with the shower.

Suited our needs perfectly

Posted Oct 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was our third stay at the Little Palace. Easy walking distance from Nice Ville train station (even with luggage), very convenient. Nice breakfast room and a good breakfast is served. Good internet connection. Great shower! Our room was in the back, off the street. No view but very quiet and comfortable. Our room was a bit larger than most French hotels! Good neighborhood market a couple of doors away for water, fruit, etc. We'd definitely stay there again.

Quaint, friendly, a blast from the past (service)

Posted Sep 16, 2013
Pros: The feel; the coziness. It was a friendly atmosphere
Cons: The parking. It is non existant at the hotel; we parked up the street in a lot the owners recommended. It really wasn't so bad, a five minute stroll.
Location: Visit St Anne Church, the street fair was great. Little shops to visit. There's more but we only had one day
We drove through the French countryside to arrive in what seemed like a small village. We had just spent 4 fast paced days in Paris and we were enjoying the journey with anticipation as we passed through the tranquil farmland imagining what life was like here on a daily basis. When we arrived no one was in the office, there was a sign on the door stating they were in the resturaunt attached to the hotel. By the time we asked a waiter what to do the owner was rthere opening the door, showing us the room and giving us the low down on the area. It just so happened there was a street fair planned for the following day; merchants selling the wears, it was cool. The stay included breakfast and it was obvious the owner wanted to please, bringing extra bread and coffee and making sure we had enough; quite a change from what we experienced in Paris. The owners were a husband and wife team that also ran the resturaunt; they were genuine people, that is the best way to describe them, genuine. It was refreshing, no pretense. They gave us our keys, including the key top the front door of the hotel because they were going to be busy in the resturaunt, very trusting. It was like a journey into a past time of tranquil dinners and trusting friends and community...best stay of the trip

CENTRAL LOCATION

Posted Aug 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
This Hotel has good points and less impressive ones also. If you want a centrally situated Hotel then this is the one. Beach, train station, airport buses, shops, casino etc are all a few minutes away. The Hotel staff are very friendly, the rooms were well cleaned and if taken breakfast is available at a fair cost comparing with outside prices as used by us. The less impressive side of the Hotel is that it is relatively noisy inside. The fire doors are such that every room door has to be slammed to be closed. You can imagine what this is like late at night and into the early hours of the next day. Also the walls are relatively thin so any noise of TV's, Talking, bathrooms is easily heard. So to sum up - Bearing in mind this is a budget priced Hotel you will get an excellently situated, clean and comfortable Hotel and if the noise can be accepted then you will have made a good choice for value for money.

Close to the beach but bed was uncomfortable

Posted Jul 26, 2013
The breakfast was good and the person who brought us coffee was very nice. The hotel was within walking distance of most everything; including the train station and the beach. The bed and pillows were very, very firm and was, for us, uncomfortable. Also the toilet seat lid was off the hinge so kept sliding off.

The hotel met expectations as a reasonably priced and thus not luxury place to stay. The location was central to all likely requirements. Would be quite content to book again.

Good value

Posted Jun 30, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Bathroom, include a shower and curtain
Location: The Promenade de Anglais, beach, train station.
Booked this hotel thinking that my family and I were going to get to Nice by train, but we changed our mind and drove from Italy, the hotel does not have a parking lot but there is one public a block away that charge up to 25 euro per day; the hotel is 10 minutes walk from the beach and it is within walking distance of the Rue de Francia which is a pedestrian street good for shopping and other attractions. We got a quadruple room with two double beds, the problem with the room was the bathroom that had no shower, only a tub with a shower head on a hose, so to take a bath was a challenge since there was not a curtain either, so we left the bathroom all wet every time we took a bath. The hotel will charge you 8 euro per person per day if you want breakfast, we opt to go out and get it from any of the many bistros or cafes opened after 8 am. There is a supermarket next door where we got everything we needed.
