“Excellent budget hotel in Nice”

Locarno is very conveniently located, close to the beach, having bus lines to/from the airport passing in front of the hotel. It is really worthed the price. The room was a bit small, what is usual in France, but very nice and clean. The bathroom was renovated so it was excellent. I am planning to return to Nice and intend to stay there again.

“A good place to stay for vacation”

The place was very nice, and the staff helpful. My only problem was that you had to rent the safe key, which I got for free at the many other hotels I have stayed at. Still, only a 2 minute walk from the beach and a clean establishment.

Very helpfull staff - nice relaxed atmosphere. clean and comfortable.. nice location - not right in the heart of the old town but just a short walk from it. Very reasonably priced.

The room was clean, but the bathroom roof was covered in mould. That said, the shower base was well scrubbed and the bathroom was of a good standard. Exposed powercords hung from the wall and there were several places in the hall way where the false roof had been broken and not replaced. The staff were very helpful. Didn't eat at the hotel, rather we walked into the old town for dinner. Area near hotel gets a little seedy after dark with prostitutes working the corners, but the area didn't feel unsafe. A reasonable, albeit old, hotel in a good position for pretty good rates in Nice. Your call...

“Cheap motel”

First let me state the positives - all the staff was very friendly and location of the hotel was good. The room given to us was also spacious. The shower had good power and was warm. The toilet worked well. Now the negatives - The furnishings of the hotel were atrocious. The main rooms and carpets had the cheapest possible appearance, looked as if they had not been refurbished in 20 years, and at night nothing was lit. At night, when entering/exiting your room, you felt like you were walking in a back alley in a bad part of town. Non-working dirty plastic phone in room. Non-working alarm clock in room. Non-working internet connection in hotel.

“Not what I expected for a 3 star hotel!”

After staying at another Expedia 3 star hotel in Paris, we were very disappointed by the Locarno. The hotel is very "tired". The greeting at the front desk was less than warm, the hallways were grey and the carpeting worn and stained. Our room had tiles missing from the ceiling and there was a leak from a pipe above causing a puddle in the room. All in all, a clean, but tired place. We would not choose to stay here again.
