St. Laurent, on the outer edge of Nice

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: The staff was very courteous and location was very close to the beach. There were numerous buses that you can utilized to reach the main downtown area
Cons: It would be great if they could replace our bath towels every few days.
My family and I had a wonderful time, and visiting so close to the Independence Day of France was a very fortunate time for us. Overall, we liked staying in St. Laurent because we were a block away from the beach, numerous restaurants to choose from, and great sight-seeking and shops. We figured out the bus system to travel into the central hub of Nice which was even better than St. Laurent. Nice has bustling and active downtown area with wonderful playground, fountains, restaurants, shops, etc. The Promenade was impressive, and the the central parks were wonderful. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and courteous. But we were there for one week and they did not inform us they would not come by to replace towels or toiletries during that week. We asked if we could get new towels and they said to us they could not do that because we were there for only one week. I assumed they would do those services every couple of days because that is normal in most US hotels. It was not a big deal because we were able to purchase towels and extra toiletries... but it would have been nice to know this before hand.

Good hotel, great staff

Posted Jun 7, 2014
Cannot fault te staff at the hotel however, the room we received was smaller than promised, we had to sleep on a futon instead of a double bed. The rest was as described. But the hotel did not even acknowledge the change of our room, let alone apologise or reimburse us for it. I guess silence was the better part of valid in my case.

Good value

Posted May 25, 2014
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: Not bunk beds!
Location: Handy for Nice and Cannes. There are plenty of buses and they can take you to lovely little villages like St.Paul and MOnaco.
The hotel is close to the beach and to the airport. Of course that doesn't stop the taxi drivers ripping you off! If you arrive in before 7 then there are plenty of buses at Euro 1.50 each. The apartment we had (4 person studio) was well designed with agood kitchen, excellentbathrrom and cable TV. The down side is that two of the beds were bunk beds and at 64 I don't climb so easy! The staff are delightful. The beach side of the hotel is lovely but the walk from thge nearby station isn't.

Really enjoyed the stay

Posted May 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
I really enjoyed the stay here, I have travelled a lot and this is right up there when going on a budget. Nice big pool ( a little chilly) Room was spotless. Very pleasing. Reception was helpful and pleasant although. Arrived late and it was closed. Could not get through to the number provided at the desk, when I did I was left on hold as it is like a call center. Thankfully the security guy came and checked the Safe outside, where the keys had been left. No body made us aware of this. so after that it was all up hill. maybe that process can be looked at for delayed flights etc. very secure area, gate codes change each day so ask reception before you leave for the new code. I would definitely recommend this for families too. Really good location and some nice bars just across on the prom, lack of supermarket in the area so stock up in Nice vill if you plan on eating and drinking before you leave for the night out! Finally, Enjoy!!Dave

This is not a hotel

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: It needs to be clearly stated this is not hotel accomodation.
We booked a room for two adults , what we received was a room with a sofa bed , and two childrens bunk beds. The room was dirty, no made up beds, the two sliding patio doors were not fitted with security locks and could easily be unlocked from the outside.by an intruder. The room safe had the lock mechanism removed so it could not be used. We handed the keys back and found another hotel.

Huge Hotel Room for Reasonable Price

Posted Apr 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I travel for business a lot and I've often noticed that European hotels are quite a bit smaller when compared to other locations for a similar price. This hotel "Pierre & Vacances Residence Heliotel Marine" had huge rooms which were very clean at very inexpensive prices. I think this hotel is marketed for families travelling together. Furthermore the rooms have a kitchen stocked with appliances (stove, microwave, dishwasher), cutlery, pots, pans, plates, glasses etc - so you can prepare your own food after doing a little shopping which is far more affordable than eating out everyday. If you do need to eat out there are many restaurants (Chinese, Indian, Middle Eastern, French, Seafood etc.) just across the road at the marina. The location is central if you want to use it as a base for travelling many places (Cannes is in one direction and Nice and Monaco are in the other direction). There are buses located 2-3mins away and there are bikes at various locations nearby that can be rented at reasonable prices if you have a phone that can call the number listed on the bike stall as well as credit card/ bank account. If you are like me and you need lots of space to function and the freedom to cook your own food, this place is definitely for you. Just be sure to bring your own toiletries including toilet paper, handtowel and maybe some extra towels.
