“Reasonable hotel in Nice close to many tourist attractions”
Pleasant motel situated only a few minutes walk from the Promenade des Anglais, Rue de France, flower market, and Colinne de Chateau. The standard hotel rooms are small but does the job. Staff were very helpful and all spoke English. We spent two nights here and it worked out well for us.
“Worked for us, but...”
This boutique hotel worked out alright for us, but I am hesitant to rate it beyond a 3.5, or recommend it to others without disclosure. I had reserved, and paid for, a room with two beds, but ended up with a full-size bed. Aside from the small size, the bed was not especially comfortable: it was a hard mattress set upon a platform, and the pillows were lumpy. The bathroom was typically small, but the shower (no bathtub) was ridiculously tiny. The room did not have a coffee maker, safe, or refrigerator, and the hotel does not have an elevator. That said, the room was charming - we had a small balcony with full-length shutters, and the entire hotel appeared immaculately kept. The location was good for us, a few blocks from the Promenade, and a lengthier but manageable walk to the pedestrian zone and Vieux Nice. We did not try the breakfast, as we purchased a tasty picnic from the Coeurs Saleya each morning. As I said, it worked out for us, but others should consider the pros and cons before booking.
“Great Stay at Villa Rivoli”
Our room was quaint and charming. The hotel had a cute breakfast lounge room and a nice enclosed back patio/court. The Hotel staff at Villa Rivoli was very kind, helpful and informational. The hotel had a very convenient location, just a few blocks from the beach, Promenade des Anglais, shopping and restaurants on Rue de France, and also near the train station. I would recommend this hotel! Great on a budget.
“charm, good service, and quiet location”
The rooms, and especially the bathrooms, are what you would expect in an affordable French hotel -- tiny -- but the public spaces, including a comfortable and quiet garden, are very nice. The hotel has old-world charm and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The manager gave us several excellent restaurant recommendations.
“Good staff/Tiny shower”
Staff was very accommodating, but shower so small banged elbows when washed hair....sink had no pipe, so water went into a bowl under sink Brochure advertised beach deal (10 Euros after 4) but hotel wouldn't make it available
“Rooms to small”
Bathrooms were very, very tiny you could not move in the shower Beds comfortable, great location , friendly staff. Rooms very small, price is too much for what you get.
“Some good points, some bad”
The hotel was conveniently located close to where I had my business meeting, so there are no faults there. The staff were friendly, the complimentary bottles of water were also nice, and the room was made up each day. Free wireless internet was also provided, another bonus. The hotel is a short walk from the main tourist areas of Nice, which can be good if you want to stay away from the crowds, but means the surrounding buildings are all functional rather than aesthetic. Breakfast was also expensive. The hotel is striving to maintain an old fashioned look and feel, but this is not brought off as successfully as it could be, although construction was talking place to improve this.
“Ideally suited”
Nice hotel with in a close distance to good places to eat and very convenient to walk to the ocean front.
“The Best Little Villa in Nice”
Hotel Review: Villa Rivoli was so much more than I ever expected for any accommodation only 2 blocks from the Cote d'Azur beaches. The hotel is in walking distance of transportation, shopping, restaurants, the beautiful expansive beaches and azure waters of the Mediterranean and is in a very nice neighborhood along with some 5 star hotels. The Management is amazingly cordial and accommodating. I personally needed refrigeration for my medication and within the hour, a mini-fridge was delivered and installed in my spacious room. The room was immaculate with all the fixtures and fittings in excellent working condition. Free Wi-Fi ensuite and a lovely continental breakfast were included in the modest price per night. I would highly recommend this hotel (villa) to the budget minded individual or couple who want s the simplicity of a B & B but the location and service of very nice hotel
“Pleasant place to stay.”
The hotel is charming and in a nice location, near the beach, restaurants and the train station.
