Great hotel for foreigners. The hotel and staff understand the need for North American guests and treat accordingly. Extremely great service that I have ever experienced in thousands of hotels I have stayed in my life.

The hotel is very close to train station and to the tourist sites. There are plenty dining options in the area. The staff service is excellent and they make me feel like home

Old hotel but clean with good service and stay. Location a short walk from the railway station and metro. Walking distance to the Tianyi Library, 5A attraction.

Good high class hotel close to the train station
Good hotel close to the Train Station in Ningbo and ideally located in order to get to the Expressway to visit the local area. staff are attentive and look to assist you at every turn. breakfast offered an extensive selection of Chinese and western food, i would recommend this hotel to anyone

Staff is always friendly and helpful. Facility is clean and nice. I stay in this hotel once a year when visiting my vendor in China. Breakfast is great. However, restaurant menu needs to be improved to have more healthy options.

Ningbo night
Short stay in the Wyndham but comfortable and friendly. Chelsea in the breakfast area was specially helpful getting me the perfect cup of English style tea. I little idea might be having a “handout” of how to get to the train station when walking would have been good.

The hotel is old and dated. The staff was great and very helpful so I had high hopes when I checked in. Unfortunately my room was disappointing. It’s very dark, old, smelled like smoke (even though it’s a non smoking room), and was extremely hot (it took forever to get the room to a temperature where it was tolerable). What really got me was the gym. It’s in the basement next to the swimming pool. The entire downstairs has a very bad smell of fungus and mold. The gym equipment was poor but the usually the at hotel gyms in China. I had to leave after 10 minutes because the smell was so unbearable. I don’t plan on staying next time in the

Excellent hotel and breakfast. I was upgraded and decided to stay extra 2 nights. Sunny and all staff were extremely helpful. Don’ Usually review but much better than I expected :) great location for business, easy for meeting pick ups to access hotel easily

Hotel in inconvenient area but good service
Hotel service is excellent, better than Sheraton and other chains. However, you can find nothing to eat or buy surrounding the hotel in reasonable walking distance for tourist.

Great location and wonderful staff
This hotel is very close to the bus station. It's very clean and the staff are very helpful. They kept my luggage for free while I took a trip to Putuoshan. Ms. Natalie at the front desk was very professional and gracious. She offered me some Ningbo's traditional snacks to go when I checked out. I will definitely stay here again.

Nice Hotel for peaceful stay at Ningbo
Very nice experience. Hotel is nice. Staff is very courteous at check in as well as the concierge. Got helped with check-in, luggage, room orientation, check out, taxi assistance, all very nicely.

Comfortable for Ningbo
The rooms are comfortable however the white furniture in the room was dirty and the nonsmoking floor smells of smoke (which happens to be quite common in China). Comfortable bed and bathroom was clean.

English wasn't too bad considering your in Ningbo. Room was super good air con as it was stifling hot. Don't really know what is around it as I was too busy to find out , however 10 minutes by car to the train station .

Best hotel in town in good price
Hotel service is very thoughtful. No matter is from manager level and cleaner at lobby. Hotel treats very guest with warmest welcome, small things such as tea and coffee at reception (tasty grounded coffee in Canadian standard) for your convenience. Care about your need, good manner!

Nice enough hotel, as you would expect for its rating but the staff are terrible. They don't know English at all, it took one whole hour to explain my dinner order and when I got it they still got it wrong.

I had a great stay here, helped by the fact I was given a free upgrade to a suite. Everything was good. One minor issue is that the building has three lifts and navigating around might have been made easier. I struggled to find the gym one morning, because there are lifts behind reception, lifts which take you to the room floors and another lift system in the second building. All a bit confusing. But this is a great hotel and I thoroughly recommend it.

My favorite hotel in China
I have stayed at the Howard Johnson Plaza in Ningbo many times and it has become my favorite hotel in China. The service, restaurants and staff are all excellent and hotels.com helped achieve an excellent value. The staff is unfailing helpful and cheerful no matter the request. The buffet restaurant is excellent and I make good use of the Club Lounge for short casual meetings with friends and business associates. The park nearby is an excellent place to spend an hour or so when I have time either between meetings or weekends or at the end of the day.

Over serviced hotel until there is a problem
My room was 28degC and could not alter temperature had to sleep with all windows open. They changed my room but new room the same. Staff said that this is normal and the temperature control thermostat in the room does nothing as all rooms the same temperature.

In case you book and pay for a stay at this hotel through a 3rd party travel agency, be careful not to get double-charged by the hotel when they process your deposit, even though you tell the front desk staff not to!!!!!

Great hotel, even better now
This is an excellent hotel. It's even better now that the recent construction work on the front entry is completed; in/out traffic flow is smooth and all construction debris has been cleared away. The concierge and butler service is excellent.Too bad there isn't one of these in every city I travel to in China.
