“Very comfortable hotel in a pretty boring city”

Not that I'm in a hurry to get back to Ningbo, but when I do have to go back for work, I'll definitely stay at Sofitel. In a city as drab as Ningbo, it was nice to have a hotel room that was comfortable. Also compared to Beijing and Shanghai, finding good Chinese food in Ningbo proved to be difficult. Well actually impossible. It is unusual that I eat at hotels, but after a few failed attempts to find good Chinese food, I resigned myself to the fact that I needed a good meal so ate at the hotel restaurants for breakfast and lunch. Food was good.

“Good value for money”

Go to Ningbo few times a year and I fall in love with this hotel. A big shopping mall with lots of restaurant in side just next to the complex. Walmart is 10 minutes walk. Room is clean with complimentary internet access. Highly recommend to business or non-business travelers.

“Great hotel, great value”

This is an excellent hotel near the newly expanding area of Ningbo. It is not right downtown, for that you need to go more north, but there is no lack of food, coffee, or shopping. Skip the hotel breakfast. It is only OK, and it is VERY expensive (about $18 a head). Instead head next door to the Starbucks. Staff is great, speaks good english, and willing to help with train tickets, taxi's, whatever you need. Will be staying here again next visit to Ningbo.

“Confortable, Convenient & Friendly”

This hotel is in city center convenient to most everything. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay as confortable and relaxing as they can.

Area recommendations

I recommend staying in City Center so it is easy to get around and shopping and eating places are close by.

Getting there

Getting to Ningbo is made easy by airplane or by the China High Speed Train it is cheep, confortable and fast from Shanghai or from most major cities.

“Will go back as long as price holds. Great value for this hotel.”

I chose this hotel because of the location and I have always had good service at Sofitel Hotels. But was impressed with the overall service of this location.

Area recommendations

Center City. Because it has shopping and many places to eat.

Getting around

In the city taxi is the only way to travel if you are going any distance. But walking if the weather permits is also a very safe and enjoiable way to get around. If you travel to other cities from Ningbo the new train CRH is great.

“At last ..”

They speak english, have grt mall next door and in a decent part of town. Excellent value. Only problem was in checking out, i had someone elses spa bill, but they sorted it.

“Great new hotel”

I recently stayed at the new Sofitel in Ningbo. Very impressed overall. Lovely decor, great rooms, good breakfast buffet. Also very convenient location in ningbo. Added benefit was that it was close to Wanda shopping center, a huge mall and cinema hall and also Walmart. Definitely would stay there in all my future visits.
