Lovely nostalgic items filled the home but the mothballs gave us both a bit of a headache and the springs in the bed did not make for a restful sleep for my hips. Other than that the place was perfect

An absolutely delightful 100-year-old home filled with charm and character. The owners are stellar hosts who served a full delicious English breakfast. Highly recommended for those seeking a quiet country setting.

Great quiet place to stay
Fantastic stay in a lovely quiet location (watching the blue wrens hop around the grounds was one of my favourite things) Very comfortable room and a great breakfast. Hosts, Karen and John, very friendly and gave great local tips/knowledge. Throughly recommend and would stay again if we are back in Oz.

While this is an older home and reminded me of my grandfather's house, Karen went out of her way to make us comfortable and happy. The internet worked superbly and allowed us to catch up on things. Breakfast was incredible!

Butterfly Farm is an old farm house that was originally built in 1894. It has been lovingly restored by the current owners keeping it as authentic as possible. Karen and John are the most gracious hosts who work hard at making sure their guests have everything they could possibly need. We had a fabulous stay. We highly recommend Butterfly Farm!

We felt well taken care of by warm and caring hosts, the accommodation was spotless, the property feel was wonderfully artistic/characterful: historic and charming. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Lovely breakfast hand-cooked to order. Would recommend to those doing the GOR who want a head start getting to the sights!

The room was like an apartment in a fabulous house and the host was excellent. Phoned the local hotel to make sure that I would get a meal and give me clear directions to find the hotel

Wonderful hosts in a lovely relaxing setting. Interesting older character property. Karen and John made us feel very welcome and gave us alot of ideas to enjoy the Great Ocean Rd. A plentiful breakfast which set us up for the day. Would certainly recommend to family and friends.

Charm and old fashioned service
When we booked Butterfly Farm we were looking for good quality accommodation with space to breathe and relax. Not only did our expectations get met, but the lovingly restored farmhouse and the helpfulness and warmth of the hosts made this a truly memorable stay. Breakfasts were delicious and hearty and set us up for the day of touring. Our hosts were always willing to help, whether it be advice on where to visit or to heat up a pastry so that we could stay in for dinner if we so wished. Thank you Karen and John for your hospitality.

Country Hospitality In a Great Location!
Beautifully renovated period home and guest suite, great location central to many attractions in the area and attentive hosts who are there if you need them but give guests their privacy. Full cooked English-style daily breakfast with all the trimmings an added bonus. Highly recommended!

One of the best B&B places we have stayed. Place was nice and cosy and hosts Karen and John were very friendly and accommodating, had a great chat with John about the history of the area and Karen provided us a map with near by attractions and information which helped us a lot to plan our days. Home cooked hot breakfast was a great start for the day. Highly recommended.

This is an old Federation style farmstead that has been lovingly restored by John and Karen to an amazing home and B&B. The 2 bedrooms are en suite and have their own lounge with TV, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Karen fills you fridge with milk, freshly squeezed orange juice and tit bits for you to enjoy on arrival. Nothing is too much trouble for them, you are looked after royally, with great breakfasts and local advice on where to go. We visited first 8 years ago and were greeted like old friends on this, our return visit.

This is an amazing place with it's charm,ellegence and scenery. Victorian grandeur
Butterfly Farm is a gracious old homestead, beautifully kept by Karen and John. Our room had its own verandah and once checked in, we could access it privately from the parking area. It had a mini fridge with orange juice, milk and some home-made treats - all very welcome after a long day driving. The bathroom was very large, with a claw foot bath and separate shower; Karen suggested that we leave our cases there, as there was relatively little room for them in the bedroom. The toilet was private, but not in the bathroom - it was reached by going through the bathroom, then turning down a short corridor - the long side of the toilet room is the back wall of the bathroom. We chose a continental breakfast which included home-made fruit salad, with a choice of commercial cereal and yoghurt. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Butterfly Farm to guests travelling the Great Ocean Road, however it is about 15km from the nearest dinner option.

Great find! Enjoyed our stay with Karen & John in the charming home. We had a private bedroom & bathroom and also had use of the living room area. In the morning, Karen & John provided a lovely country breakfast - cereals, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, yogurts, coffee, teas, and juice. Nice way to relax after a long drive! Highly recommend!
