"Feel like home when I was at the Milky house."
One of the best experiences while travelling in Japan. It is like staying at a home given the extraordinary treat if Milky house staff. Also, food is outstanding, even by Japanese standards, a combination of traditional Japanese with true western gourmet. The facilities to the ski resort could not be better. Great access and proximoty and you can get ski rentals to the doorstep! Absolutely fantastic.

"Awesome hotel"
The look of the hotel is very nice, the lobby and the bar/lounge area was very beautiful. I especially liked the bar/louge area when I was sitting by the fireplace and I could see the snow falling through the window. The staff are very nice and helpful. I would recomend to stay in Hirafu if it is close to the end of the season- It was very hard to find a place to eat outside of the hotel and only 4 buses were operating to Hirafu. Also I had to travel to Hirafu for a snowboarding lesson as the hotels lessons didn't have english instructors unless i booked a private lesson. The rooms were nice and the beds were very comfy. The buffet breakfast was nice and filling. Overall a lovely hotel that I would definately go to again

The Chalets at Country Resort

"An awesome country resort with a bit of hick up."
The Chalets at Country Resort was exceeding my expectations in many ways. It is a luxurious country resort with all the conveniences -wireless internet, cable TV, nice huge/automated kitchen with great set of kitchen wares, washer/dryer, four bedrooms with tempur-pedic mattresses, spacious living room, etc. The resort was a part of the Country Resort a bit away Hirafu village downtown. All the above made me forgive the frustrations during a check-in process. Surprisingly, there was no sign or assistance whatsoever on-site. The sign and telephone provided onsite belongs to another property management company. We had to ask another resort for help, which he made a call and gave us instructions to contact one office at Hirafu village. That property management company, which provided a telephone number at the property, found out that we did not reserve the resort with them. They sent us to another place, which should had helped us in the first place. It turned out that the Chalets at Country Club is one of at least two companies running the properties management at the Country Resort for the property owners. The staff did apologize for the hassles. Please do not be mistaken, I still strongly recommend the resort. It is such a lovely luxurious country resort for friends and families. I believe that after my case, the Chalets at Country Club would come up with a better check-in system, which was the only flaw of my experience there.

"Great Location for Family Ski Holiday"
Booked this property with another family, (4 adults, 4 kids 9-11) mainly on the basis of price and room configuration. Pricing through Expedia was great based on the timing of the stay. Configuration (there are others) was great with the tatami rooms for the kids and main bed for the adults. Good size living room, kitchenette that allowed us to eat in, separate bathroom, toilet, laundry. All equipment was new. Staff were great and couldn't do enough to be helpful, restaurant was nice with breakfast included, broad selection of styles for dinner. Ski locker facilities great and kids and wife (and me eventually) loved the onsen. Only criticism was the shuttle bus service to the ski fields and that a minor one. One Niseko is about 10 minutes from the Annupuri gondola and about 25 from Hirafu by the complimentary shuttle. The earliest one to Hirafu gets there at 9.25 am so if you must get "first tracks" you will need to make other arrangements. Wasn't a problem for us with the kids though once we got handle on the timing. Moiwa skifield is closer but a lot smaller. We didn't ski there but I'm told it's good if the snow is deep. Grocery shopping is in Hirafu but you can get the supplies delivered so it wasn't a problem. There are some basic food supplies in the hotel "store" as well. You can get ski hire at the hotel although we chose another supplier. You can book transfers from Chitose airport through the hotel website. Overall a great holiday for our requirements.

Niseko Freedom Inn

"Home away from home"
If I had to choose just one word to describe my experience at the Niseko Freedom Inn, I would seriously be hard pressed between choosing 'brilliant' or 'wonderful'. In essence, I am leaning towards wonderful in every sense. It would be utterly unfair to put it in the same ranks of some of the larger resort establishments in the area. Niseko Freedom Inn sits in its own distinctive and beautifully unique niche. My first encounter began with the sign at the entrance - Old Fashioned Style. This is not just attributed to the aesthetics, but is also to an alluring charm. It is good old fashioned awesomeness. Any travel experience is enriched by the people you meet. This is especially true with the staff at the Inn. My stay here was unlike anywhere else I have stayed. The staff really welcomed me more like a part of their family, rather than a guest. The warm, personal comfort and familial atmosphere at the Niseko Freedom Inn really does make you feel at home, albeit a surrogate one. Whilst not located in the hubbub of Hirafu Village or Annupuri, the Inn is just a stone's throw away from the slopes of Hanazono. Complete with its own ski/snowboard school, equipment rental, shuttle buses to Hirafu, F&B options - you really cannot ask for a better and quieter location. After a day in the pow of Niseko Hanazono's glorious powder snow, nothing beats coming "home" to a warm welcome by your surrogate family at Niseko Freedom Inn! That is my idea of a chillaxing holiday. Loved it!

"Rusutsu skiing"
Entering the hotel with merry go rounds, kids playzone and a mini disneyland type decor was a bit different but we were led up to the hotel reception area and all became normal again. Helpful check in staff with adequate english, good ski storage facilities close to the exit area and a variety of bars and restaurants all within the one building made our stay a pleasure. There was plenty to explore over our 3 days all within the one complex The skiing was fabulous across the 3 different peaks. If you love tree skiing then this is for you but the groomed intermediate runs were perfect for my standard too. Advice that North South wing was most convenient to ski lifts was spot on. The tower looks like it would be more convenient but definitely involves more walking and does not have anywhere near the atmosphere of the North and South wing hotel sectors. Beginners and kids areas are closest to the North and south wing as well. If you are looking for a resort in Japan which caters well for kids on and off the snow then this is it.

"at a golf course and a ski lift starts in hotel."
Very nice hotel with several activities available. Several walking trails, a golf course and for the winter a ski lift starts from the hotel premises. Golf course rent equipment and even shoes so even the unexpected golfer can play. Nice onsen and spa available. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Only small draw back is that the village is around 10 km away so own transport is helpful.
