great space and locationPosted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: wifi, washer/dryer, big space, location...
Cons: it's perfect
Location: we did a lot of biking. used Rhythm bike shop-good bikes, good prices, great biking!
this condo/hotel has a lot of room and is in a good location. It has everything you will need for a night or two or as long as a week or two! good wifi, full kitchen, washer/dryer, good wifi and a short walk to almost everything- just be sure to NOT go into Hirafu via Hirafu train station-it is an empty building in the middle of no where- use Kutchan station and hotel will pick you up free.

Great location, very clean rooms, great breakfastPosted Mar 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed at Yama Shizen for 7 nights to primarily snowboard. It is perfect location in niseko, close to food and drink venues yet only about a 8 minute walk to the gondola to go snowboarding! Yama Shizen has it's own ski valet just off the mountain which was quick and easy to use. Also if u want to bring your board back to the hotel they also have a heated locker room. Wifi worked great, the buffet breakfast was awesome every day and the lady in the coffee shop in the lobby of the west wing building makes the most incredible latte!! She is very helpful and friendly too! The hotel offers complimentary pick up and drop off to the bus station up the road (welcome centre) worked great for us, easy check in and checkout.. Couldn't be happier 5/5 from us!

Excellent service, nice room and good locationPosted Mar 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Service staff was excellent. Friendly, Very knowledgeable and helpful. Location was quite convenient to ski slopes. About ten mins' walk from hotel. Restaurants in surrounding area of hotel. A very pleasant gesture from hotel staff to extend my checkout time without me having to request for it. Thankyou HT once again. Would definitely stay back here when i come back.

Nice hotel.. 10-15 min walk to either liftPosted Mar 18, 2014
Nice place with a very helpful staff. Booking my ski passes, rentals, and airport transfers thru the HT Holidays website was really convenient. Passes and vouchers were already in my room when i arrived. Would recommend using the ski valet service since the walks to the lift are uphill. Washer/Dryer was in japanese so some button mashing was involved. Also, sharing a foyer/mud room with another apartment was a little weird at first, but you get used to it. All in all, would definitely go again.

Might as well not be in JapanPosted Feb 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Yama Shizen is quite adequate. The rooms are clean and spacious and the ski storage and drying facilities are very generous. The problem with Yama Shizen is if you stay here you might as well not be in Japan. If your holiday plans to Niseko involve as little contact with the Japanese culture as possible you'll love it here, but if you want some Japanese hospitality try somewhere else. Also, hope that nothing goes wrong in your stay because there aren't many staff members that speak Japanese so their ability to smooth out problems is limited by the language barrier. Breakfast is pretty limited for the price too.
