Hotel close to city centre

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: olde worlde ambience
Cons: air con would be nice
Location: Locally you are easy walking distance of the city centre shops, Cathedral and Theatre. Good road links to the coast and The Broads.
Attractive Hotel with ample parking, located only a mile away from the city centre. Small rooms, lots of stairs and passageways but delightful setting. We were up in the eaves, so the room was quite hot, but still we slept well. Food was excellent and good value. Would recommend and happily use again. Staff friendly and very helpful.

Convenient for central Norwich

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Pros: Convenience; quiet
Cons: The cost is high for hotel that needs updating; decor 'tired'
Location: Great location, and special city to visit
Satisfactory stay; facilities dated - the room was clean and had in-room services

Only OK

Posted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: Our room and bed was very comfortable and bathroom had lots of hot water. Cleanliness in our room was acceptable. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Clean, especially the carpets and check that housekeeping is up to standard. The management could do better.
Location: Location about an easy 1mile walk to city centre, where shopping reigns. But explore the lanes and river to find the real Norwich.
Hotel is very tired and carpets grubby. There were cobwebs around wall lights and corners in the dining room. The shower cubicle had some mould on the grout and many of the tiles that surrounded the bath were very cracked. The stay was ok but we wouldn't go there again or recommend it.

Close proximity to city centre

Posted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: Proximity to the centre of town.
Cons: We ran out of hot water after one bath. A second bath was cool.
Location: .Walkable to city centre. Great shops. Beautiful old town by river. 2 Cathedrals. Castle and museum.
Easily walkable to city centre and shops and restaurants. Comfortable room in a quiet part of the hotel, actually a little annex called 'the cottage'. Breakfast plentiful and served well although it was sometimes a bit hard to find a waitress.Desk staff prompt and friendly.

Okay on a budget, but facilities not perfect.

Posted Nov 5, 2012
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: In winter, need heat in bathroom
Location: Good location. Norwich City Centre is walkable.
The radiator did not work in the large bathroom, leaving it quit chilly. This was not fixed during our stay, although we mentioned it in the morning before going out for the day.

close to town

Posted Aug 8, 2012
Pros: 20 min walk into norwich city, and easy to bus in as stop just outside.
Location: near to centre
we found hotel ok and found it to be quite near to town, we didnt use many of facilities but did use the bar and found that to be quite expensive. the rooms are adequate and bathroom was spacious although we found the basin in bathroom to be very low.
