Nice bed and breakfast in the middle of nowhere.

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: A bottle of water is provided in the rooms.
Cons: TV could be a little larger, apart from that, brilliant.
Location: Near Norwich, do whatever you want around there.
One feels safe and secure. A warm welcome is given. Beware, your car will need a good wash as to arrive one must travel via mud tracks.

Prepare to unwind at Colts Lodge

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Personal touch, friendly owners and beautiful view. Excellent homemade bread too.
Cons: Access road leading up to the B&B got a little bumpy at times but that is as dramatic as it got! (Access is through beautiful countryside)
Location: 30 minutes from the lodge you can visit the Snetterton racing circuit which provides action packed race weekends for the whole family.
While visiting the popular motor racing circuit Snetterton we looked for alternative place to stay over the big name hotel companies in the City of Norwich. We were pleasantly surprised with how accessible colts lodge was to the major dual carriageways and had no issues finding. Andy and Caz greeted us and showed us the quaint living space for the guests, this included a communal area which had several comfy sofas and a snug area looking out towards the open fields. (Which was a stunning view) We stayed in the King twin single room it had all the amenities we could ask for including free wifi, television, bath/shower and complimentary bottle of water with couple of sweets. We had breakfast at 8am being offered a selection of cereals, homemade bread, yoghurt and fruit juice. Followed by optional English breakfast with no sides spared. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking to stay in vicinity to colts lodge, we will be visiting again.

quiet location perfect for a relaxing evening

Posted Apr 10, 2014
I went to a meeting and needed some quiet time in the evening. I could not have chosen a better place. I was fortunate in having the lovely sitting room to myself. Home from home and better. The hosts made me feel very welcome and the breakfast was served with home made bread. I would regularly go if I lived closer by.

Relaxing stay in a peaceful location

Posted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Hosts, location, d├ęcor.
Location: Close to Norwich (park and ride facility for Norwich close by). Strumpshaw Fen RSPB reserve.
We recently stayed for 2 nights at Colts Lodge. As a family of 3, including a 6 year old, we booked the Kingsize room which provided ample space. The lodge has been recently renovated and is both clean and tasteful. The hosts were charming and extremely helpful, providing advice on local amenities without being intrusive. The location is very quiet and secluded, so ideal for a peaceful retreat whilst still having good road access to Norwich and the surrounding attractions. Do check that you have received specific driving directions otherwise you might think you are driving into the middle of nowhere!

Comfortable B&B in a beautiful location

Posted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: En-suite bathrooms
Location: 5 miles to Norwich city centre
I was the first guest in this recently converted B&B and was made to feel very welcome by the hosts. The cottage is in a remote location but fairly easy to access by road, the bedroom was clean and comfortable and the guests lounge area was much nicer than might be expected of B&B of this size. The breakfast was good quality and I believe the aim is to provide evening meals in the future which would be good option as there are no pubs or restaurants in the village. The setting is fantastic - surrounded by picture postcard farmland, the only downside of the accommodation would be that only one of the rooms is en-suite, the bathroom is shared by two rooms but that could be 4 people which might be an issue in the morning.
