“Made us feel special”

I booked this hotel as a surprise birthday treat for my partners birthday and we could not have hoped for more. We were amazed by the hotel, you arrive via a really long driveway to a very special looking old building. Some parts are older than others but you will be hard pressed to tell unless you are an architect. Inside it is very stylishly finished. Despite a standard room we still had a 6foot wide bed, a sofa, armchair, TV and large ensuite. It was all very new, clean and well thought out. If it had had air conditioning I would have given it 5* in all categories. The health club is great with an excellent pool, spa, sauna, steam room and gym (didn't try that though). It has long opening hours and towels are provided. The grounds are very pretty and the golf course is right on site. There was ample parking too. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are fantastic, a help yourself buffet of hot (cooked English) and cold (European), pretty much everything you can think of eating at breakfast is there! We didn't try the onsite restaurant as we wanted to eat in Norwich (massive choice). The bar drinks and room service are expensive and I believe the restaurant is too. The cafe bar on the golf course has light lunches which are OK. Again though, they are not cheap. It offers easy access to the Norfolk Broads and coast too.

“Nice hotel with good pool”

Pleasant hotel in quite quiet location. It is a small late 19th century country villa extensively extended in a slightly tacky but confortable range of contemporary styles, and surrounded by an extensive golf course and car parking. Very nice indoor swimming pool. Friendly, helpful staff. Didn't manage to get served in the restaurant, probably too busy with weddings, but the cafe by the golf course was OK. Nice bedroom.

“Pleasant surprise”

Large room and generally very helpful staff. No restaurant on Sunday night but can eat in bistro/bar by golf club. Bit expensive but probably no less that similar hotels. 11 pounds taxi back to hotel from central Norwich. Very clean and well maintained leisure complex. Breakfast good, except cooked food rather ordinary
