Excellent VFM

Posted May 1, 2015 on Hotels
Pleasantly surprised, usually b&b accom attached to a pub doesn't work too well (in my experience & when working away)but this is super. pub is nice & clean with a traditional feel, not too busy. Food just fine, restaurant nice. Overall excellent VFM.

Bedrooms and public toilets need updating

Posted Apr 22, 2015 on Hotels
The bar and restaurant areas were pleasant and food excellent. Breakfast was of a good quality and just the right quantity. The toilets for the public areas were very poor and worth going to your room to avoid. It was a shame that the restaurant/bar could look so good but the toilets the complete opposite. Hopefully this will be rectified shortly. The comments about the road noise in the bedrooms are worth noting. We phoned a day or two before arriving to request a room towards the rear and were allocated room 9. This is to the side of the hotel but larger than some rooms at the rear. With the window closed you could not hear the road but on the second night we opened the window and woke to the sound of the traffic and had to close it. Nothing can be done about the noise but it was not too much of a problem in April. The standard of the bedroom was a little disappointing. The mattress was very average and equally disappointing was the room furniture. This could have been described as rustic but probably would have been better if it had been more modern. Also having the kettle etc. on a dinning table with a table number on it did not help. The staff and food were fantastic and the location for National Trusting was great. Everything was very clean.

Rural pub with rooms

Posted Apr 11, 2015
A pleasant rural pub with rooms. No major issues, but nothing stood out as being exceptionally good, either. A nice quiet location, which makes it well suited to getting away from the world, but also means that you have to be prepared to drive to eat or drink elsewhere.

A really lovely place to stay.

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Everything. Great for families as we had two rooms within our room - even had a sink and fridge - ask for Room 6
Cons: Can't think of anything wrong with this place at all
Location: About 10 miles down the main road from Cromer. Easy to explore the coast from here. We went to see the seals at Blakeney Point by boat
A lovely inn which provides great rooms and restaurant quality meals. Breakfast is served at your table but you choose exactly what you want and is very tasty and generous. Owners very welcoming and we just turned up for the evening meal when convenient to us even though it was quite busy with non-resident diners.

Lovely Hotel - lived up to recommendations

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Friendliness and comfort
Cons: It was very hot so air conditioning in bedroom would have been nice
Location: Boat trip on Broads (beautiful) Norwich Cathedral, Castle and Sandringham (very interesting) and the RAF Radar Museum at Horning (fascinating)
Stayed Monday to Friday with family - great hotel, well located and staff couldn't be more helpful. Comfy rooms and well cooked food.

An excellent overnight stay.

Really helpful & friendly service. We enjoyed an excellent & well presented meal in the restaurant followed by an relaxing coffee in the bar. Perhaps the only points I would raise is I missed a bath in addition to the shower & a more relaxing chair in the room so that I could read in comfort.
