Close to the airport

No water on two separate occasions for over 4 hours, walls were paper thin. The staff was friendly and rooms were adequately cleaned.

Surprising condition for a Doubletree"

Cons: Remove musty smell of the rooms. Hire some management in Max and Ermas restaurant that could produce chicken tenders and salads in less than an hour.
Luckily had an excellent registration clerk. Efficient and pleasant.

Great hotel for a great price!

I was really satisfied with the stay. No hiccups or miscommunications. I did notice that they were having some technological issues with an elevator, and some of the guests were a little sloppy (putting their grown, adult faces on the glass in the elevator), but that's not really a reflection of the hotel itself. Overall, it was a pleasant stay!

everything was OK except the receipt. They did not give any receipt as I was Expedia client. I felt uncomfortable because I booked thru Expedia. They treat as second class client.

Older hotel in need of upgrades.

Pros: Location.
Cons: Upkeep. Restaurant.
Location: Near airport. We didn't do anything near it.
The room was adequate, but lacked amenities now more typically expected (ethernet connections, more electrical outlets). General upkeep was OK, but some peeling paint and floor stains. Soda machine on our floor was completly sold out. The restaurant menu was weak, portions small for price, and plating was unimaginative. Breakfast on-site is only available through room service. My wife ordered pancakes, which came without syrup. Given the Doubletree brandname, we were disappointed.

At check in, there were no cookies. I don't know if this was just this Doubletree or what. The room was nice and clean. The housekeeping staff were very nice.

Everything was nice...especially the warm cookies. The only downfall is that you didn't have a microwave. For the price that we paid for the hotel, there should have been a microwave in the room. I had food leftover from the Max & Erma's restaurant but I didn't want to leave the comfort of my room to microwave food at 2 am. Hopefully next year we come on vacation to this hotel there will be microwaves. Thank you for the nice stay. :)

Great stay in Norfolk

Location: Airport, shopping, highway-accessible, lots of restaurants.
I am a photographer from NC, and I was in the area to shoot a wedding. My couple recommended this hotel to me, and it was a great stay. The room was a perfect size, lots of outlets, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. I was tempted to take one of the big, fluffy pillows home with me! The decor was simple and contemporary. I also liked that there was a restaurant on site with a bar. The hotel staff was beyond my expectations - she made great conversation, was very kind, and efficient! She even remembered me the next morning and asked how the wedding went. I plan to go back to this hotel the next time I am in the Hampton Roads area.
