This hotel should of at least had complimentary breakfast. They only have a coffee pot with coffee (no decaf) and tea for you in the rooms. They don't even have a little refrigerator in your room. If you go to the little food mart in the lobby, they charge you an arm and a leg. The staff were nice and the rooms were clean. Overall, it was an OK stay but I don't think I would stay in this hotel again.

Stay was ok

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Stay was fine and room was clean. Pool was good and gym clean but The Dining Room was awful. Food was bad, had to wait for someone to bring plates to the buffet, and service was poor. Asked for cranberry juice and got orange juice.

The staff are the rudest people to deal with.

Posted Jul 27, 2014
I was promised a roll away upon check in at 2:00. After many phone calls upon our return to the hotel, at 1:00 am I was brought sheets and a pillow for my daughter to sleep on the floor. The staff was rude and very unaccomodating.

Green family reunion

Pros: friendly staff
Cons: pool open later
Location: beaches shopping
My stay was wonderful the night life was great and easy to drive to the beaches. The hotel staff was great we stayed in room 1004 and our maid was Jackie she helped make our stay wonderful by providing us with theing to do in the area and assting with room supplies.

Impressed for the price!

Posted Jul 7, 2014
For the price paid, I expected much more. The hotel is nice. I just wished they had a small refrigerator in the rooms to keep some drinks and/or food cooled. A microwave to heat up leftovers would be nice. Especially this time of year. Parking is not free. There is no complimentary breakfast. You are charged for it as well. The pool is indoors and is only 5ft in depth. The hotel overall is ok. If you don't mind this then you'll enjoy the stay. The beach is 28 min away. The mall is 4 min from the hotel. There's a street about 5 min away from the hotel with many options of nightclubs. It's a nice place. If they make these small changes, it would be great.

Perfect location.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
The location of hotel is perfect. We could walk to the points of interest. The 6th floor deck was absolutely perfect for the 4th of July fireworks plus great photo opportunities also. The room was small and not enough elevators but the views and proximity to points of interest made our trip fun for the entire family. We would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Many thanks for your reflections on your time with us at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. We are very fortunate to be located in central downtown Norfolk within walking distance to most of the major attractions. Glad you enjoyed the views and thank you so much for the recommendation!!

very nice comfortable bed.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Very close to the waterside.
Cons: Need more employees on the front desk.
Location: Even though the shops across the building by the waterfront is almost empty aside from the three restaurants, there are plenty of things to see and do
We really like Marriot Hotel. Since we only travel on leisure once a year, we always find a way to spend the night at any Marriot Hotel when we can. Although the wait sometimes is too long checking in, we never have problem with the staff.

Cons: The parking situation is terrible. You have to park in a garage on the other side of the hotel. It's a long walk and even worse if there is rain.
Location: The mall is basically empty except for a few restaurants. The harbor is pretty to look at.
It was ok for a one night stay. Its close to Nauticus which is why I booked it.
