Studio, one, two and three bedroom suites offer our guests:

• Luxurious bedding, extra pillows and blankets

• 32” wall (not all are wall mounted) mounted flat screen TVs, DVD players

Accommodations

Our spacious and beautifully furnished hotel rooms and suites afford guests both the convenient amenities of home and the luxuries of a five star hotel or resort. (I have been told II no longer uses 5 Stars to rank Resorts). All of our rooms and suites have soft, sumptuous bedding with exquisite linens, comforters, pillows and blankets. Suites also include pull out sofa beds in the living area for additional sleeping, as well as a 32” plasma TV.

In every suite, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen complete with all the tools you need to whip up a quick snack or a gourmet meal. Bathrooms offer spacious black granite countertops, dual sinks, and plush towels you can use when stepping out of your Jacuzzi tub.

The private( Many are not private adjoining rooms sometimes have a view right out on the balcony) balcony of your oceanfront or ocean view room is the perfect place to take in the breathtaking view of the Virginia Beach boardwalk and Atlantic Ocean, while you enjoy your breakfast or sip an evening cocktail.

Recreation

The resort offers an outdoor seasonal pool. Guests can try boogie boarding and the ocean right off the resorts beachfront. Beach chairs, cabanas, umbrellas and other beach gear is available for rental. The Virginia Beach boardwalk which is just steps away, is a great spot for running and biking, strolling or relaxing and taking in all the sites. Bike and buggy rentals are available right across the street from the resort.

“October Surprise”

We stayed from Tuesday through Friday in mid-October. We asked for a "oceanview" room and were treated to an "oceanfront" room. The construction noise reported by others was a non-issue as most of the work was done by early afternoon. It is a little close to the final approach to Oceana Naval Air Station. The staff was very nice and helpful. Only real complaint is the total inability to get a cell phone signal from my room or the balcony. I was told this was due to the thickness of the walls. Which was a good thing because we did not hear anyone in any other rooms from our room. The outdoor pools are small, but since there were not many people there, it was not crowded. We were only asked once to sit in on a sales pitch to buy a time-share, told them that we were visiting family, and they left us alone. The staff suggested places to eat, all of which we excellent. We shall return.

Dining

Catch31, 3 blocks south, was great, we ate there twice. Mahi Mah's was very good also. Breakfast at Pocohantas is a must, 1-2 blocks north.

Outdoors or beach

We enjoyed walking on the beach and along the boardwalk, no peddlers like in Vegas.

“Nice eye candy, but...”

Lots of eye candy, attractive hotel and room, and friendly staff (for the most part). I really liked the TV/wardrobe/dresser combo as a twist on conventional hotel room furniture. That said, the room had a couple of maintenance issues. The wall outlet beneath the table (the most convenient place to plug in power for your phone or laptop) was broken and useless. Also, the tub had a faulty drain mechanism, and so the tub would fill up with water while taking a shower. To drain the tub you had to manually lift and hold the drain plug up until the tub was empty (not what you want to do during a weekend getaway). And it would have been nice if there had been either some window sheers or blinds on the window so that you could get some natural light in the room while still maintaining some privacy. Lastly, there were some quality of construction issues that were a disappointment (like construction adhesive clumped up at and around the edges of the wallmounted mirror). Regarding the restaurant/eatery off the lobby - not at all impressed. Expensive and bad food. Find another place to eat.

“Nice Hotel”

Nice hotel. Rooms are clean and have a kitchen, eating area, sitting area & bedroom. The bed is not a queen like described. It is more like a full & could be more comfortable. You don't hear you neighbors, which is nice. There's an indoor pool & 2 outdoor pools the are adjacent to each other. One outdoor goes from 1' 6" to 3' 6" for the kids & the other goes up to 5'. Which is nice. The restaurant is nice, but the continental breakfast is limited.

Family-friendly activities

Ocean Breeze Water Park, Aquarium, Rudee Rocket, dolphin tours, kayaking, mini-golf. Busch Gardens & Water Country USA are 1 hour away.

“Poor hotel customer service!”

The hotel was nice and clean, but there was construction going on right outside our hotel room window that started every morning around 6am. When we asked the front desk if it was possible to switch to a different room- even if it meant a downgrade in room- they were NOT very understanding and said we had to deal with Expedia. My personal opinion after almost 20 years in retail is that this wasn't Expedia's problem- it was theirs to deal with! There was no reason they couldn't have switched our room- we even offered to pay more, but they made it sound as though we'd have to pay the full room rate even though we already paid for the room we had!!! HORRIBLE customer service! We were also there for 3 nights, and 1 of the days the housekeeping did the most sloppy job I've ever seen, the next they shorted us a beach towel! On yet another note- they kept pushing their "timeshares" on us to the point of utter irritation!!! We certainly won't be back to a hotel that doesn't at least try to please its guests & help them enjoy their stay!

Area recommendations

The entire beachfront area is very nice, though I would reccommend staying a little more central along Atlantic Avenue or Pacific Avenue.

“Ask about construction”

We should have been informed that the hotel was doing renovations when we booked our stay. We had a room facing the construction and had the noise from it day and night...they even worked with huge lights shining off a crane at night.

“CLEAN AND CONVENIENT”

VERY FRIENDLY STAFF . The room is not very big but clean the hotel is very well located on the boardwalk and close to everything . However there is a new building under construction close to the hotel and the construction noise is starting as from 06.00 AM until 05.00PM . This is very noisy and the new building will be finalized only next year .

“Delayed check-in but good value overall”

We arrived to check in at 4:45 on a busy Friday and our room wasn't ready, we had to wait in lobby until 5:30 for our room. I thought they should have offered a drink while we waited, but they didn't. **OVERALL POSITIVE: Every staff person- from front desk to housekeeper to pool staff and arcade attendant- all were extremely pleasant. Our room was a one bed efficiency and the kitchenette was great, the room was spotless and the bathroom had a full size tub. At night we heard no noise whatsoever. The elevators were quick as there were 4 of them. The indoor and outdoor pools were great for the kids. My son loved the free video game room! There is always an attendant- a young person who played wii and xbox with the kids. **WARNING: When they call your room and ask you to attend a time share presentation for 90 minutes in exchange for free dinner coupons- don't go! We were there 3 hours and I had to stand up and say I'm Leaving to get the dinner coupons. I won't make that mistake again. **All in all, I was pleased with the hotel and would stay again.

Family-friendly activities

Go to the Virginia Aquarium. If you're on a budget, take the boat tour through the inlet- I think it's only $5 per person. We did the whole aquarium tour and spent much more money, and the boat ride is what my kids liked best.
