Pros: Clean, nice hot breakfast. QUIET, comfortable room
Location: Botanical gardens 6 minutes. Beach a short drive.
Excellent experience. One of the nicest hotels we've stayed, especially for the price!

Good but distant.Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: It was clean and quiet. The staff were great. The convenience store inside helps a lot with the distance to others.
Cons: What can be improved isn't their fault: They need more development around them to accommodate people staying in either hotel.
Location: There isn't much around. You definitely need a car to go anywhere. It's close to downtown, but there's no way to get there other than private vehicle.
If you need to rely on anything other than a private vehicle, you might be out of luck; they offer an airport shuttle service, which is amazing. However, the hotel is fairly distant from anything. There aren't buses that run by, and there is no where else to walk to. They do have a small convenience store inside, though; this helps if you just want a quick snack or a drink. The air conditioning runs a lot; I set the room temperature to 90F to keep it from running too much, turning it down to 85F at night. Even at that temperature, the A/C was on all night. The staff is amazing. They're really accommodating and will go out of their way to help you.

OK hotel for staying on budgetPosted Aug 28, 2014
Location is convenient close to highways and shops (Target, Olive's Garden, fast food restaurants, etc.). Hotel entrance is tricky as the side street is closed off and you're driving from the opposite side to the hotel you would have to make a "U" turn to enter the premises. Room was smaller tha expected and so were the beds, however, it was clean. Air conditioner was noisy and when I tried to turn it off/on the buttons were not there and in their place there were rusted holes. Staff just checked you in and provided no instructions or direction so I had to ask. Fortunately, I had informed myself about the place and I had an idea of what to expect. I asked for a crib for the baby which was provided shortly thereafter. Breakfast tickets were provided for two days only even though our stay was for 3 nights. I did not ask for breakfast tickets for the checkout morning because breakfast was not that great. We went instead to a nearby IHOP. In addition, breakfast is only served until 9:30am. Not that convenient for me since I like to sleep in when I'm on vacation. The swimming pool was empty and didn't look too clean, so we decided not to go in. I was reminded that pets are allowed when I heard a dog bark, but I only heard it once. There was plenty of parking so no problem there. Overall, the hotel is OK if you're on a budget and just want to use it as a place to sleep. If you're picky about little things I recommend paying extra for better place to stay.

Nice hotel for a reasonable price.Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Nice clean room, pool was refreshing and liked the workout room despite lack of AC.
Cons: Fix and maintain items that are broken (AC in workout room), improve restaurant area to make more inviting to guests during lunch/dinner shifts,
Location: Location is close to Virginia Beach, Busch Gardens and Williamsburg.
Hotel was clean and in a quieter area of Norfolk. Road leading into hotel is under construction and not well marked. Elevator was located in the middle of the hotel's building hallway instead of off the lobby which was a bit of walk with luggage in tow. Rooms were clean and well maintained, however, room size is small. Shower pressure very good with plenty of hot water but had no tub. (Stand-up shower) AC unit was noisy and did not have a "fan only" mode. Only turns on when room gets uncomfortably warm. Pool was clean and clear. Staff needs to make sure towels are available in the pool area at all times. Needed to bring my own towels each I swam. Workout room was well equipped with TV, however, AC unit was missing and room was cooled by one small fan. Water cooler in workout room was not working. Free breakfast was excellent with many food choices, both hot and cold. However, when we attempted to have dinner in the hotel restaurant after our very long drive, hostess/waitress never acknowledged us and it did not appear food was being cooked/served. Went out to dinner instead.
