“the staff makes all the difference!”

We arrived (after driving all night) at 9:45am and went to the front desk and I said "I know it's really early but is there any way we could go ahead & check in....?" & Tonya smiled & not only checked us in & gave us our room but she also said "If you hurry, there is still 10 minutes left of breakfast. Help yourself"! She started off our trip soooooooo wonderfully!!! The rest of the staff was equally pleasant and made our stay a great experience!

Area recommendations

We were there for the 50th anniversary of the Christian Broadcasting Network & that is all we saw. I can recommend going and visiting the campus of CBN & Regent University. You can tour the studios and possibly watch a taping of the show and tour the University. The grounds are beautiful and I am told very peaceful (when there is not a big celebration going on).

“Not Impressed”

The staff had a poor attitude. Although they were nice to me I could hear them down the hall as I approached my room. They were complaining about the lack of supplies for each room and the coordination between them and the front desk. They did not have adquate linens for finish my room before check in and didn't have extra towels. Sad since the the pool was in full use with the weather steaming outside.

“not impressed for the price!”

Room was great. The continental breakfast was poor it was served from 6-9 and we were in the lobby at 7:50 and they were out of just about everything. When we asked if there would be more the breakfast attendant responded with a very rude "NO". So addition to paying a higher rate for the hotel we then had to go out for breakfast because they would not refill the breakfast bar. The pool was also very cold.

“Nice place”

The hotel was very nice. The only problem I had was I had booked two double beds and they first gave us a king. I was visiting my son and needed the double beds. They gladly changed rooms.

“Short stay-cheaper than oceanfront”

Hotel was clean, bottom of pool seemed a bit dirty, hot tub/ jacuzzi-did not work and there was no bathroom in the pool area. Otherwise room was fairly clean and the staff was adequate but not outstanding. We stayed one night here instead of staying at the oceanfront to save some $. Next time will stay in Greenbiar area though-can get similiar type of hotel there for same price and is much closer to shopping and many more restaurants there.

Traveler's tip

To save $ on hotel at VA Beach, stay in Greenbriar area of Chesapeak. Is a good area and is next door to tons of shopping and restaurants.
