Run Down Slum TravelodgePosted Sep 23, 2014
Travelodge on 28th and Atlantic Ave. Virginia Beach - 2 days without hot water and the girl at the desk could have cared less when I spoke to her. So this was my experience. First floor room with a kitchenette supposed to be nonsmoking. The first blast of moldy/smoky stench stale air greeted us as we opened the door. The holes worn in the carpet we about 3 inches in diameter. The light fixture by the bed actually fell apart when you pressed the button to turn it on. There was a thick layer of fuzz on the baseboard at the headboard. The bathroom has no exhaust fan, but a window to the alley that holds trash bins. The screen had bugs and fuzz stuck to it. And it did not fit properly. No remote for the antique TV. The air conditioning cycled on and off every 10 minutes. Continental Breakfast included? Week old pastries and cold cereal. Motel office is so dark and tiny they have no place to sit. Gum stuck all over the walkways to your door. This place was so not even worth the $53.00 a night time limited special they offered. I don't believe that anyone from the corporate office has ever attempted to inspect this place. Expedia should really reconsider offering this particular Travelodge on their website. There is a Travelodge inn and suites across and up the street a short distance. THIS WAS THE WORST RUNDOWN, AND DIRTY PLACE I HAVE EVERYTHING STAYED. THE OFFICE GIRL COULD HAVE CARED LESS. WE HAD PREPAID ON EXPEDIA. THEY HAD OUR MONEY SO IT DIDN'T MATTER.

Dated but comfortablePosted Jun 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
We were worried about the hotel stay because of online reviews we read. We found the hotel to be more than adequate- the room was spacious with a kitchenette, clean, and very comfortable. You cannot beat the price for the location! We had a great family weekend at the sand soccer tournament and with the convenient location, were able to go back to the hotel room for breaks between games. No sign of bed bugs or filth. The continental breakfast provided was just that- pastries, muffins, cold cereal, and juice.

They don't even have a washroom to use at check in. The lady behind the counter was babysitting while working. The place was gross.

The perfect place to be for the beach!Posted May 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
This Travelodge Virginia Beach is in a perfect place located on Atlantic Avenue, close to everything! The beach is across the street on the Boardwalk, with gift shops, restaurants, wide sidewalks for walking, jogging, riding bikes, horseback riding and just seeing the sights! And don't forget the beach! It is a centrally located place to stay, and perfect for families! I would easily stay there again!

Close to the beach.Posted May 20, 2014
Cons: Just about everything that a person looks for in clean, comfortable accomodations.
Location: Very close to the beach & the shops & dining on the boardwalk strip.
Dark, dingy room. Housekeeping was terrible. The first time we had housekeeping come in she didn't make the beds, leave fresh glasses or leave a new roll of toilet paper. During our week's stay I don't think the bathtub, toilet or sink or bathroom floors were ever cleaned. The continental breakfast was disappointing - very sparse and there wasn't anyplace to eat. Breakfast had to be taken to your room. Parking was not sufficient when the motel was full. When we returned in the evening it was difficult to find a parking spot.
