“Nice Bay Hotel”
Affordable, clean hotel. My family stayed in a bayview suite. The pool and jacuzzi are nice. They could use an upgrade with pillows and linens, however it was perfect for the price.
“it was ok.”
it did the job and reasonably priced
“good time”
Had a good time at the hotel and enjoyed the surrounding bars and stores
“stay somewhere nicer, it'll be worth it”
if you don't plan to be in the hotel or sleep much, it's worth it.
“Not for your family”
The ocean view suite has the bedroom next to the hallway and vending machines. Apparently they have many "beach weddings" and meetings here, and the overnight (and intoxicated) guests kept us up all night with yelling. The carpet was wet, not just damp from shampooing. Unloading the car needs to be done from the back parking lot, not the front entrance. You won't know until you actually unload your car for the first time in the front, as there are no signs. No on-demand movie channels on the TV. If you have small children, this hotel should NOT be on the top of your list.
“ONLY PARTIAL VIEW”
Water was partial view, not oceanfront.!
“wouldn't go back”
Interior of the common area of the room was very dated - couch stained. We complained when we first came in because there was no help getting to the room and no carts available - we heard there are only 2 carts for the entire hotel. The gift shop only had 2 people working and we stood in line for over 20 minutes to get milk for the baby. Kids were in line with ice cream and she ignored us while having to cook for other people in the cafe/gift shop. However, when we did complain, we were upgraded to a bayside room - which is good customer service.
“Expected more for the price”
I was not very impressed with the hotel. For the price, I guess I expected more. I was wrong. I stayed in a 2 BR Suite with double beds in each room. First of all, I was completely shocked with the parking garage. I drive a large SUV and could barely fit around the corners in the parking garage. You can see from the paint and scratches on the wall that others before me weren't so lucky. The actual parking spots seem to be made for a small compact car. Garage needs serious upgrades. I elevators are very slow and I took the stairs most of the time with my 3 children. The rooms were clean but furniture needs upgrading. The dining room chairs were stained as well as the sofa bed cushions. I told the kids to put a sheet on the sofa before sitting in order to provide a barrier. Most of the time, the sofa bed was pulled out and kids lounge while watching tv. The bathroom was clean and kitchen area was decent. When it rained, my floor inside the closets and outer edge of room near the windows was socked with water. I was on the 3rd floor. Overall, the service and people was nice. No complaints about the staff. My issue is with the maintenance and design of the building. I paid alot for 4 nights. I expected more. I didn't get it. Sunday Brunch was awesome. Worth the price.
“Great Location, amazing views, nice rooms!”
This is a perfect place for a family or a group of friends seeking relaxation. It is on the beach, and each room has a beach view. We were a group of 14 and every one loved it! It is miles from the main Virginia Beach, but the drive is ok. It has a jet ski and kayak rental just outside the hotel. The beach next to it is not main Virginia Beach, but it's a decent beach.
“Meh”
Great location, but the hotel needs a serious renovation as it seems very dated
