Pros: Front desk staff
Cons: general up keep and service
We disappointed in your rooms our 1st was dirty and the sofa was worn , we looked at a 2nd room which also was not clean, you did find a clean room on the 3rd try, but we were not happy with the not clean rooms. The trade wind restaurant had poor service and the staff did not present well, so we are sorry with out visit and probably would not return to this hotel.

Secluded beach front location

Nice convenient location, not far from all the action. The room was decent for the price but the elevator service was slow, so we used the stairs a lot. Restaurant and bar on site

Nice Hotel on the Beach

Pros: yes
Cons: the gym needs major improvement.
Location: Hot Tuna was a great restaurant. My grandson enjoyed the Virginia Aquarium.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The beach is clean :). I only wish they would invest some money to repair the broken equipment in the gym. I stayed there six years ago and the same treadmill is still broken.

North Carolina Visitor

Pros: The room layout and the balcony were nice features. The staff and manager were helpful.
Cons: Cleanliness of the room, flooding in parking garage.
Location: We stayed because we went on the Spirit of the Norfolk dinner cruise and the beach scenery.
When the resort was viewed online it looked more modern to me. Upon arrival I was very disappointed with the parking and there was flash flooding so standing water was everywhere even in the parking garage, you had to walk in water. The room overall was good until an empty beer bottle and other trash was behind the couch and the morning shower started out warm (luke) and went to cold within minutes. I spoke with the manager on call and she stated I would receive a voucher from the hotel for a free stay. The room was quite expensive and I expected more since it was a resort.

Not what we expected.

Not sure why this is called a resort, it doesn't have the details or amenities of a resort, it's simply a hotel. Hotel rooms were not clean, had to be moved the first night because lots of stains were all on the mattress. We stayed 4 nights and our bed linen was changed only once, and that was because we asked.

Old beach motel

This place is right on the beach. Rooms are old with beds right by the door. We could hear every noise from the corridor. It was, especially, disturbing late night when we could hear every closing door and steps. The room looked like it hasn't been maintained since the 70s. The stains were everywhere, even on the popcorn ceiling. The odor of the worn out room was the worst. They have elevators there but we could use only a couple of times during our stay. It took forever, so we used stairs most of the time. If it wasn't a business trip, I would've moved out right away.

Pros: location. it was on the bay
Cons: The hotel needs to be updated. Furniture was shabby. The housekeeping staff was unpleasant and seemed as if we were bothering them with requests.
Overall good. It was very relaxing. We were able to live with the hotel's shortcomings mostly because the location was excellent. We wanted a quiet vacation, away from the boardwalk.

Roomy Hotel But Updating Needed

Location: Food lion was across the street. Nail salon within walking distance. A couple of nice restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel needed updating. The carpet was old and stained and the bedding was old. The sofa was so stained I did not want to sit on it.

someone dropped the ball

I reserved a room with double bed (5 months prior) i had a room with a king, had to switch rooms the next day (after calling 3 different times and promised a new room first thing the next morning but didnt move till afternoon) so moving was very inconvient and delayed us starting our vaca and it was my birthday. The staff didnt seem to think it was a big deal because of how busy they were but it was to me and i didnt appreciate how they handled the matter. ive stayed here before had a fantastic time not so much this time.
