Hidden delight!Posted Jun 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
My husband and I recently stayed at the Edington House and it was a perfect choice for us! We stayed on our way to the very north of Vermont and wished we could have stayed longer. Our hostess was delightful, the inn was immaculate and Patti is quite the chef too! Our breakfast was so delicious and perfectly presented along with Patti's charm! Patti also made suggestions for our dining destination as well for our visit in Bennington with directions and priorities! Certainly this is a place to revisit for more than one reason. We were certainly charmed.

Pleasant and well-situated B & BPosted May 29, 2014
Pros: The breakfasts were tasty and well-prepared, the owner was friendly and helpful and the inn itself was situated in a beautiful spot.
Cons: I'd say the rooms could be prettier: even a few more flowers or some rugs would be nice. The shower and the bed were too small in our room.
Location: There are some great restaurants and shops nearby, Bennington is a charming town and close to others that are a joy to walk around.
Eddington House Inn is a comfortable and attractive B & B. Although it lacks the prettiness of many New England B &B's, it is quite nice and my boyfriend and I enjoyed our weekend there. The owner of the inn, Patti, is a fount of knowledge about the local area and she is very happy to share what she knows and to talk about sites, drives and views so that you will get the most out of your stay in the Bennington area. The inn itself has three bedrooms and we stayed in the ground floor suite. We found, as some other reviewers have, that the shower was quite small and that the walls are are fairly thin. We also felt that the bed was too small for us and that the mattress was hard and somewhat uncomfortable. I was not impressed by the decor (I've been spoiled by some truly lovely and romantic places in northern New England) but that's not to say that it was unattractive or uncomfortable. When I made the reservation, I did tell Patti that this was a very special weekend for my boyfriend and me and that I hoped the room would be very pretty and she assured me that that would be the case. However, there were no special touches that I could see---the bathroom amenities were somewhat sparing (only one small bar of soap and a little sample bottle of shampoo were included) and only a small vase of flowers were included. My feeling is that other inns will feel more romantic to people traveling (as we did) for a special getaway.
