Nice view of river, but fairly run down

Posted Jul 27, 2015
The lobby is cute. The rooms are falling apart though. Wheezing fan, decaying mirror, rotting and rusting balcony, no plug space, tube TV, questionable flushing toilet, too big of a list to go back. Fun art in lobby though.

I wasn't impressed with this place at all. Front desk was rude & not helpful. Room had no screen on balcony door. Said they would have maintenance look at it the next day. No air conditioning so we had to leave the door open for any circulation. Only coffee & tea in lobby. No coffee stirrers & front desk said they didn't have any. Room was a nice size but didn't make up for the issues. Spider webs on every rail on the deck. YUCK. Would not stay here again.

on the water

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Free bikes and DVDs, strong signal for wifi. Quiet atmosphere and very economical for a family on a budget. Staff are nice and bed was comfy.
Cons: The whole place could use a cleaning. Ice machines located near the pop machines. Power cord strips instead of extension cords.
Location: Astoria had a ton of things and all done in a day. Then north to Fort Stevens and Battery Russell and parks more north of the city. Seaside is great.
On the water of the marina. The room was filthy. There was dark mold ring in the toilet and a tan hue to the water that is NOT part of the water system. Once the toilet was cleaned the bowl was white. There was urine under the toilet seat its self, one of the very comfortable chairs was ripped all over the back and we found a dessert cup under the bed when we were looking for my track shoes. There was an ordinary household extension cord with all sockets full and not enough outlets at all. There is a bar just across the rows of boats so we don't know what week ends are like. We were only there for the night so lesson learned. Won't go back.

Pros: The view from the deck is beautiful but that's it. Front desk staff was nice.
Cons: Everything, even though it's old it could still be clean but it's not. Way to expensive.
Location: Area is at the end of the river walk and away from most of the town activities.
Dirty, Needs updating. Smells terrible. Only thing it has going for it is the view off the deck.

Great location!

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: Location. Employees at front desk
Cons: Clean up parking lot grounds. Have trash car in lot.
Location: River walk trail. Trolley . Close to shops. Easy to get to column...
Friend visiting from NZ. Great location: walking river walk trail; allowed my large dog, with room for her to walk; view of harbor and bridge.

Fantastic balcony view of famous Astoria Bridge

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Pros: View, balcony, location on the walking path. Attentive staff.
Cons: The balcony was a bit dusty.
Location: Walking path along the harbor in town; Lewis and Clark historical sites short drive away.
Literally right on the water! Driving up it looked uninspiring, but when we opened the door to our room we saw that the entire far wall was window - patio doors onto a balcony. The entire front of the hotel is on piers over the harbor. Also, right on the Riverwalk, so easy to walk the harbor, go to restaurants.

Good value- nice view!

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Cons: We were intimidated by the appearance of the door. It was our first impression of our room, and it was bad. Some cosmetics would go a long way.
Location: A little far to walk to the main town area, but parking was easy.
For the low cost of this room, we were happy! Some updates could make this hotel nicer, but overall we were satisfied. The second floor balcony was enjoyed. We watched ships pass through the river and cormorants fishing. The sea air was great.

Love the view of the marina

Posted May 28, 2015
Hotel was perfect. Individual balconies overlooking the marina and the bridge to Astoria, couldn't hear our neighbors and it was so nice and peaceful. Front counter people were so nice and you can rent DVD movies for free!! Will visit again :)

Awesome River View

Posted May 22, 2015
Comfortable beds, great location to everything in Astoria, nice to have free use of bikes and movies. Awesome watching the big ships come into port in Astoria while sitting at table on the patio. Saw baby ducklings and seabirds in the marina right from our room. In general the place could use some TLC but is great value as is.
