nice hotel on the river

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Nice and clean roomy room and pleasing staff.
Cons: Maybe lower the price a little.
Location: Fort Clatsop is nearby, Lewis and Clark spent a winter at the fort.
Nice hotel, but is a little far for walking distance to the cities attractions. There is a trolly system that go along the rivers edge, but the hours are not user friendly. Hotel is a little too pricey for the distance to city center.

Hotel staff recommended an excellent place to eat (Wet Dog Cafe) and had delicious cookies in the lobby. Room and continental breakfast were as expected.

Poorly managed hotel.

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The river view was good.
Cons: Overall management. Have them keep commitments.
Location: East of town with little nearby attractions.
At 3:30PM check in room was not ready. Told to come back in one hour. Upon return at 5PM room was not ready. When room was ready the floor was dirty and there was a cigar odor in the non smoking room. Asked for new room and the only option was a queen room when we booked king. They offered a credit if we stayed in the original room. We reluctantly agreed. Later they called and told us they could not honor the credit as we used Expedia. That made us wonder if we should stop using Expedia.

Good hotel, some issues with noise.

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Noise in our room was terrible and had to ask for ear plug. Our room was next to circuit breaker for parking lot lights and the humming noise kept our whole family up. Still, the hotel in itself was clean, pleasant, roomy and good.

Would never stay here again

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Nice comfortable bed
Cons: Everything
Location: Astoria nice fun town
When I arrived at 2:20 pm the manager was checking in a older man she asked if he wanted a bottle water and granola bar for him and his wife. Then she looked and me and very rudely said I'll be with you next when it was my turn she told me fill out paper work she said I could come back later to get in my room. She wasn't nice at all. Then I got my room it was ok no extra toilet paper and what was on the roll was almost gone the carpet was dirty looking I opened the curtains to no view unless you want to look at people working on a lift doing painting. No screen on windows so forced to keep windown closed not to mention at the end of my hall was garbage from the workers and the ice machine wasn't working so had to go to 3 floor to get. The breakfast huh if that is what you call it. Over all for the price it's a dump pay 40 more and stay at the holiday inn I went there the rest of my stay.

Comfort Inn describes the beds

Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: The comfort of the beds made the stay very pleasing.
Cons: The only thing I would improve on would be the speed of the elevator, a bit slow.
Location: The local trolley is right behind the hotel and it very fun and educational. The maritime museum is also very close.
Although they were remodeling during our stay, they were not noisy or disruptive. Our stay was very nice, close to Safeway for late night snacks and the pool and hot tub were very nice.
