We got the reservation very late, the reason we overpaid for the room.

Out of the wayPosted May 18, 2015
Pros: Nice, clean
Location: The Astoria column was amazing, walked up the 164 steps, (made it !) and the view even on a drizzly day great, as was The Columbia Maritime Museum!
The hotel was on the east side of Astoria, so less congestion. Our room was on east side 2nd floor. Clean, easy to walk on the River walk and the sea lions were amazingly loud!

It's actually not loacted nearby the Columbia river. But if you stay the room on 3rd floor, you'll enjoy the atmosphere.

Awesome... with ear plugsPosted Apr 13, 2015
Cons: Sell ear plugs.
Location: Goonies house, Film Museum (same jail house used in movie), cool restaurant on the dock "Rogue Public House", Astoria Riverwalk, The Column.
We enjoyed everything about our stay with the exception of our noisy neighbors, aka... sea lions! Don't get me wrong, I loved how they were so close and we had a great view of them out our window, but they never SHUT UP, lol. Seriously, I wish we'd known beforehand, 'cuz we would have been prepared with ear plugs. I mean, it wasn't so bad, it was more of a muffled, constant, "Arh-arh-arh". I slept alright, I think I blocked it out for the most part. My husband didn't sleep well at all. Anyways, other than that, it was great. Breakfast was yummy, pool looked great (didn't get a chance to test it out). Also, we could kind of see the Goonies house from our window too... which was cool. Just up the hill. (Goonies nerd here, I'm not ashamed to admit)

Nice hotel with Goonie house viewPosted Apr 5, 2015
Oversized room, very clean and comfortable. Close to sea lions and trolley. Indoor pool great for the kids. Breakfast was very good. Walking distance and great view of Mikey's house from Goonie's and Astor Elementary from Kindergarten Cop!

Hotel with loud sea lionsPosted Apr 1, 2015
This hotel is away from the city center. The room was nice and the hotel staff was very helpful. The hotel is next to a pier that is frequented by sea lions. They barked the entire time. The walls were thin enough that we heard the barking the entire night. It kept us up.

AstoriaPosted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Staff was friendly & helpful. Breakfast was good.
Location: Trolley behind the hotel is a must.
Hotel was an older hotel but it was clean. We had a king size bed and it was excellent. We were afraid that the noise from all the sea lions would interfere with sleeping but the staff recommended to turn on the air and offered ear plugs. The noise from the air conditioner helped and we slept so good. We would stay there again.

Spring Break Get-a-WayPosted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Breakfast and pool were great for the kiddos!
Cons: No phone in the room which was weird. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner.
Location: Columbia River Maritime Museum, View of Goonies house from Hotel, Sea Lions from River View.
Nice staff, great location, along Trolley route, nice hotel and all the amenities a family could want.

Great Hotel in AstoriaPosted Mar 19, 2015
Stayed at the hotel last weekend. Location is great, the rooms are spacious, the rooms are clean and beds are a very good size and very comfortable. The breakfast was good and had enough choices to get you going in the morning. The hotel is steps away from a Safeway, which I found convenient for buying snacks and drinks. It is well located in the middle of town, just a few minutes away from restaurants, the Goonies house and the Astoria Column. Only issue we encountered was the noise from the sea lion docs which are located right behind the hotel. At first we all thought it was very cool that we could hear them and see them from our room, but after a few hours and when trying to fall asleep, the noise they make was not so cool anymore. The solution for a good night sleep was to turn-on the AC and problem solved!
