Beautiful Historic Inn

Posted Jan 2, 2015
The Gilbert Inn is a beautifully maintained historic inn located near both the beach and shopping. My room was comfortable, very clean and quiet despite staying on New Year's Eve. It is strictly an inn with no breakfast provided, but several good restaurants are within walking distance. I would recommended the Gilbert Inn to others and hope to return for another stay.

Wonderful Victorian Inn

Posted Dec 15, 2014
The Inn has not lost any of its charm in the last 20 years but the location has been heavily surrounded by 8 story condos providing a canyon affect of noise and lights. From our quaint turret room we could still see a 6" patch of the ocean.

A Little Disappointed This Time Around

Posted Oct 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
This was our second stay at the Gilbert Inn within the past three years. Our first stay was exceptional this one, however, was lacking. We stayed in the Kimberly Room. The first thing we noticed were two large stains on the carpet. A couple of times we were met at the front desk with a sign stating "they would be back in a few minutes". We booked a room with a queen bed and got a full size bed instead. Our biggest concern was the bathroom. The toilet was about as small as one could get and the shower was not built for someone over 5 1/2 feet tall. I am six foot and found myself, even with the shower nozzle has high as it could go, having to bend over to take a shower. On the plus side the cleaning staff did a great job. We will most likely look for other accomodations on our next visit.

Charming Victorian getaway

Posted Oct 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
Although were were on a girl's trip, I kept thinking of how perfect the Victorian house would be for a romantic getaway. Charmingly decorated while maintaining a lot of the original wood and antique furniture. Very clean and well kept. Short walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and shops. Very friendly staff. I only wish there had been a breakfast to make it a true B & B! Would love to come back with my husband.
