“Very Nice!”

The best part about the location was the view of the river and Astoria bridge. We were on the river side, 4th (top) floor, and it was incredible. I highly recommend paying the extra required for a river view. The room was spacious, clean and had a comfortable bed. One drawback was that we could hear, very clearly, the people in the rooms on either side of us. The walls must be paper thin! The continental breakfast was excellent, the best I've ever seen, with a wide variety of food.

“Great Stay”

Very pleased with the hotel-- great location,comfortable and spacious room, and hearty breakfast! Free parking and on-site laundry were a plus. Also the near-by Bridgewater Bistro Restaurant and Tasting Room are highly recommended! On Sundays, there is a great public market in downtown, in season.

Staff gave good recommendations on restaurants and sights to see. The desk staff was very friendly.

“Geezerville!”

The shower head leaked terribily and surmounted to little more than a trickle. While this is not breaker, it is certianly irritating. Secondly, my wife and I took our 2 sons to Astoria for the weekend, and chose the Holiday Inn Express because of the indoor pool available. The pool was fine, no issues. Where we had the issue was between 8 and 9 pm on the Friday night, when we received a phone call from the front desk telling us that our boys were being too noisy and the people below us had complained. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels with and without my sons and never had to field such a rude experience from the front desk. This is especially so, since the front desk was inferring that we may have to leave if the boys were not silent for the rest of the night. I want to make it clear, I have a 2 and 5 year old, while energetic were not being excessively noisy, jumping on the beds, yelling, or running in the room and it was before 9 pm. My issue is, the front desk did ot even bother to investigate the complaint from the other guests, but chose simply to threaten my wife with eviction. The hotel chose to put us on the 4th floor (top floor) and our reservation clearly stated that we had 2 young children with us. It is ridiculous that a hotel chain that is supposedly in business in part to cater to a family would simply infer the threat of being asked to leave rather than truly investigating the claims and complainats of the guests below us.

“Spectacular View of the Astoria Bridge”

View of the bridge and channel were beautiful. Watched the big ships travel under the bridge-especially impressive at night. Best Mexican food-and right across the street.

“Home of The Goonies -- can't wait to get back!”

The rooms in this hotel are super spacious, clean, and beds were very comfy! We will definitely be back and we will definitely stay here again!! Breakfast had plenty of choices and dinning room had an AWESOME view of the bay and bridge. Pool and spa were super nice for us and our children to relax in, the business center was functional, the laundry facilities were nice since we had been on the road for 4 days at the point of check in, it even had a game room with Mrs. Pacman that we enjoyed!! We did not have to drive far to restaurants or museums -- or the urgent care center we needed for one of our kids (strep throat) on Christmas Eve. Great little town I can't wait to get back to!!

“Astoria”

Friendly staff, super-clean room. Very large room too! Great location with amenities nearby. Our car's battery died in the parking lot and the staff was right there with a charge and a recommendation to a local garage that had us back up and running in two hours. I would definitely stay here again

“One of the world's best hotels”

I have stayed at many hotels in my life, and I must say this is the best of all of them. The room was meticulously clean, and the view of the river was fabulous. The bedroom was near the entrance, then there was a separate "living room" with a big picture window overlooking the Columbia River bridge and Columbia River (gorgeous). The living room had a big screen TV and a (gas) fireplace, very homey. The bedroom also had a big screen TV. There was a small frig for us to store sodas. Breakfast was wonderful, and the breakfast room also overlooks the river. You can step outside for a closer view - the grounds are beautiful. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The lobby is lovely also. The best part was the very reasonable price! We upgraded to a river view room for a small price - an absolute must if you book here. We do not beleive in spending a lot of money on lodging when we go on vacation, and for the money there is no better place in the world to stay.

Very nice location and the rooms were very clean, comfortable and the staff was extremely helpful in giving information about Astoria. Will stay there again!
