“Cool location, Classy but small rooms”
We went here for a little romantic getaway. The room and hotel were nice and clean and I liked the way that they have remodeled the hotel yet kept it's 1940 era feel. The rooftop view at sunset was amazing and I really liked the way I could easily walk to some good food, brewpubs and bakeries. Our room was really small though. The bed pretty much filled it up which made for a claustarphobic feeling. We liked the radiant heat in the bathroom which made the floor nice and warm.. There was no closet. I know they have bigger rooms so next time I would check the rates for one of those. Best dinner in town was just across the road at the Supper Club.
“Overrated”
Most of the hotels are overpriced in Astoria, including this hotel. The staff seems to be composed of inexperienced amateurs (think Lord of the Flies where all the adults seemingly have disappeared). The ad fails to specify that you will be walking a block from the "parking lot" which is actually municipal with strict parking rules during the Saturday Farmer's market. Don't forget to budget for the tow truck fees.
“Nice Boutique Hotel”
Hotel Elliott turned out to be one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip through Oregon. The room was tastefully furnished, the bed very comfortable. We enjoyed the sunset from the rooftop. A simple breakfast was served in the original basement under the sidewalk. If you're looking for a hotel with personality, then you've just found it.
“Astoria”
Nice hotel, very helpful staff, working distance to a selection of restaurants.
“HOTEL ELLIOTT- COMFY!”
Great experience. Will go again!
“Astoria.Oregon”
The Elliot is an old charming hotel, needs to get with the time no WI Fi no refer avaliable for the room, need to go down stairs for ice. If you want a soda or beer better get it before 6PM or you'll be out of luck..
“Beautiful hotel”
Cool boutique hotel with top shelf amenities and accommodations. Hotel has the old world charm but has been modernized so it doesn't feel shabby. Very comfortable and clean. Room on the small side but very nice. Definitely a gem in a very tired city. Top floor outdoor terrace has great view of the river - nice location for a night cap. Parking is in public lot next door and seems unattended but we didn't have a problem. Must pay if leave car during the day. Staff was friendly but sparse (seemed like only one person on duty) Astoria has a lot of potential but still has a ways to go. City was completely deserted after about 7 pm. Dining is challenging in the city.
“Great location! Could add some comfort”
We really did enjoy our stay at Hotel Elliott overall. I thought the location was great....right in the heart of Astoria and in walking distance to shops, eateries, local attractions, etc. I'd read an earlier review about the noise from the setup of the Sunday Market, which was literally happening right outside our window. Our window was wide open and we were not at all disturbed. I could hardly believe what had transpired between 5 a.m. and 8:30 when we woke! A market appeared! Liked the ambience of the place and the staff we encountered were terrific. My only disappointments.......our room was so "compact" that there was no chair to sit in for reading. Had to sit on the bed and the bedside lights were too dim for reading. Also, the bedding, especially the pillows, were just not comfortable. a pillow menu would be a welcome touch!
“Good hotel for location”
Great hotel! Loved the view from the rooftop-excellent night service. Breakfast for Mondays was stated to start at 7:00-went down at 7:00 and no breakfast was there. Morning attendant said that it was supposed to start at 7:30 which is the weekend time. This was the only drawback-everything else was excellent!
“Checked out early”
The room was small & next to the stairs, it was noisy with folks on the stairs. The room was hot, opening the windows let in the furnace exhaust. Kids were yelling & playing in the hallways...more noise. No refrigerator, no video players, no feather pillows as advertised. One little desk chair, no bureau storage... Couldn't get out fast enough. Saving grace: the staff were nice.
