Well used but not kept up hotel on the beach.

Pros: The staff was very helpful both at the desk and in the restaurant.
Cons: The the shared hallways and thin doors could could be changed but I don't know if it would improve it.
Location: It is right on the beach and has a nice indoor pool.
We had a very small room, not much bigger that our queen bed. There were not enough electric out lets to make coffee and charge our phones. The bed was hard and lumpy and with the noise from other guests it was difficult ,to say the least, to get any sleep. It is not for anyone over 22.

We had an amazing time there. Everything was excellent. Around 11:30 pm we had requested some extra blankets and they brought them to our room in a matter of 10-15 minutes.

Love the Beach Access!

The lobby is beautiful and the staff are friendly but we had a problem with a barking dog next door and slamming hotel rooms with kids during the night. We did have to forcibly shut our door to ensure that it did lock. Otherwise it wasn't bad. We liked the ease of finding parking but the beach access and proximity to the shops was perfect for the price. We would recommend it, even without the ocean view.

Shocked - not up to Shilo Inn standards at all.

Pros: Location
Cons: In dire need of updating/renovation, especially air conditioning in ALL the rooms. Over priced by about a hundred for the quality of the room.
Location: The Pacific Ocean and the beautiful wildlife and scenery, plus great shops & restaurants, outlet mall etc.
I go to Seaside 3-4 times/year & from prior experiences at OTHER Shilo Inn’s thought it would be nice to stay there. Felt lucky to find an available room at Shilo knowing the room didn’t have an ocean view, but is right on the beachfront & was a Shilo Inn room, it had to be great–well unfortunately that was not the case. Overall very disappointing, not a good value at all. Needs some serious renovating before I would ever stay there again or recommend it to anyone. The 1st room we were assigned-Room 203-should not be rented out even at a discounted price, they should feel guilty making anyone pay to stay in this room. There is a stairway and a wall right outside your window. There is no A/C. There was a room service menu, no directory of services, TV was an old huge box type, don’t go to the beach to watch TV so this wasn’t a big deal. The bathroom had granite counter & tub/shower surround, tub & toilet were worn. Carpet, furniture & decor were worn & dated. Overall “felt” dirty. I was so surprised, not at all what I expected. The front desk clerk was very nice, (FYI-can’t say the same for the young woman who checked us in) he agreed with me when I told him I didn’t feel the room was up to Shilo standards and was disappointed. He moved us to a much cleaner 3rd floor room with a view of the town & mountains (still very small). Apparently partially updated within the past few years, no A/C, but there was a little white table top fan, caked in dust, in the armoire.

Nice spot! I'll definitely be back. Downside: a couple of dishes in the dishwasher, wall art could use to be updated. Upside: there's a dishwasher!! Pool and hot tub are open 24 hours and look onto the esplanade.

Location: wonderfull beach
The 4th floor of the building seem to be in a continuous roar, moving, as if a heavy engine is running on the top floor. Also walking outside towards the room you would feel it moving. Our queen 1 bed room, town view, was small and dark, and only had heating, no airco. Not so much of a problem as outside temperatures were not high. The bed was very good, we had an excellent night sleep. The website pictures promised more glamour than was delivered. Even though the hotel felt a bit run down we had a very good time. Excelent service in the restaurant.

Pros: Views, restaurant, location, parking garage.
Cons: Remove trash from the roof that the lofts look over.
Location: Entire downtown, shops, aquarium, beach, Perfect location. I liked the small shop across the street to get sodas and snacks :) Cool place.
Expedia had the wrong picture posted for the room. So, there was confusion about what we were to get. I showed the staff the picture and then upgraded to the room in the picture. I didn't save any money using Expedia, compared to the regular rate of the hotel. I was charged $20, by Shilo, to change the room I had reserved on Expedia to upgrade to the one I thought I was getting in the picture. Over all, the hotel was ok. It's not new. Clean, but it looks old and dirty because of age. My daughter really loved the loft room. It was cool. Could have done without the dead bird, seagull nest and trash up there. She didn't notice it. But, over all it's okay. It was the only available rooms that were big. The new hotel next door was booked. I would stay here again. We ate twice for dinner and breakfast at the hotels restaurant. The food was really good, IMO, and the view of the beach in it was awesome. The staff and waitresses were always nice and awesome. Like I said, it's older but the location is great and they have a great parking garage next to it where guest park for free. You're pretty much in the middle of it and everything is a short walk. Considering the confusion and age of the hotel, I would stay here again regardless. It's still cool It was pleasant and my daughter loved it. The doors do slam. I was just in Florida, for seven weeks, and the Hampton Inns, a brand new hotel doors slammed. I guess it's hotel life. Other than that it was peaceful. On a 10 scale I rate a 7.

Pros: The location next to the beach
Hotel needs a facelift. Concrete block construction with a coat of paint is not luxurious.Room had an odd odor and was dirty. Shilo in the past was a step above the competition. What happened?

Dirty & Overpriced

Pros: NOTHING
Cons: Service, Get AC, Clean the Rooms, Make sure there are towels, DO Not charge guest before they arrive. Put screen on windows, don't have police outside
Location: On the beach, lots of shopping near by and arcade
Before arriving our card that we wanted to "hold the room" with was charged and overdrew the account, we wanted to pay with cash when we arrived. Then the room they gave us had NO towels, no screen on the window and the window faced an open area outside anyone could get in. When we arrived to check in there were 2 police cars out front blocking the entrance . There is no AC and the rooms are so hot. After complaining we were given a different room, it was better , however it was still dirty and had food crumbs in the bed the bathroom was not clean. Overall it was not a good experience and I would not stay here ever again. They did compensate us with a free breakfast.
