We had a wonderful weekend. we have stayed here before and the hotel is right on the beach and close to all the shopping and restaurants. the weather was good, temp in the 60s with no wind or rain for two of the three days we were there.

The bed was so uncomfortable. The noise was a huge distraction. The restaurant was horrible and both my sister and I had pink, slimey chicken. It was right off the promenade and the ocean which was nice, but well choose another location next time.

Pros: The people were great.
Cons: Better beds. More pillows.
Again as the last time we stayed it was noisy. Last time was dogs upstairs running all night. This time it sounded like someone was moving furniture until after midnight. Asked for a ocean view but got in the back by the walkway.

Pros: The room, pool and the lobby. It also had a gym. That it had wifi, free parking. We got a complimentary drink at the restaurant in the hotel.
Cons: Continental breakfast all week long! Including weekends.
Location: Just the right location.
It was a anniversary trip a booked for my husband and I, our room was beautiful, cosy and clean. Very nice view from the loft.

Beg bugs....had to destroy our new luggage

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: Location....on the beach
My husband & I went there for our honeymoon which was spoiled by having to check out early since I found a bed bug in my hair after having a nap! I asked the duty manager to come to our room to check it out and she brought the housekeeper, and we received the worst service ever. The 4 of us (husband included) were in the room to check for more bed bugs and the 2 ladies stood there and did absolutely nothing but watch us take off the sheets, lift up the mattress, check the headboard, etc. I am 32 weeks pregnant and these ladies watched me lift & hold this big mattress without even offering to help or assist. What bothered me the most was the extreme lack of empathy. I'm standing in the room distraught and sobbing about finding bed bugs in our room and not once did either of those ladies say sorry. Again, they didn't say ONE word the whole time while they were in our room. Since we didn't know where the bugs could now be hiding or if there were more (in another room), we of course did not want to change rooms so we checked out. We had dinner reservations that night to celebrate our honeymoon and enjoy our stay there but that was cancelled because we had no where to now sleep for the night or any clothes to wear since they were in our luggage that may have been exposed to more bugs. We didn't want to bring the chance of carrying a bed bug to another hotel so we just packed our luggage in large garbage bags and drove back to Canada at 5:00pm in the dark in a heavy rainstorm.

I was troubled to hear that you and your husband had such a negative experience at our hotel. There is nothing we can say that can make up for the way you feel. I will let you know, we immediately closed off that room and had it inspected by Orkin.Based upon their inspection, they found no evidence of bed bugs. Please accept my apology for what you encountered and know that as the new General Manger at the Seaside Shilo Inn, it is my number one priority to ensure that each of my guests has positive experience at our hotel. Best Regards, Larry Donnelly – General Manger

Terrible Brunch!

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Front desk staff need more customer service training, need to appreciate and like what they do, it shows when you don't even smile at your guest. Brunch was terrible, short cook and kitchen staff were arguing and fighting on the plain sight of customers. Food was so greasy, French toast was like bricks, fruit was soggy, dessert Apple pie & pumpkin pie was a day old. I would let everyone to not eat there. Service was terrible all around.

Loved the opportunity to upgrade at checkin. Loved the breakfast. Great that you had a shuttle to take to bus stop.
