Great choice for a Tillamook Getaway

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Roomy accomodations
Cons: The towels were on a rack above the tub. That is such an unusual location that we almost didn't find them. Maybe some signage pointing the way?
Location: Tillamook Cheese Factory, beaches, lighthouses, beach horseback riding--if you can't have fun on Oregon's north coast, you just aren't trying!
This Shiloh was a great place to stay when we visited Tillamook and environs recently. For the price, I was certainly expecting less; we were very pleasantly surprised!

The room should have been cleaner. Information on area attractions including eateries should be displayed.

"Affordable" "Excellence"

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Mary, she is employee of the quarter, she was a hero & helping on her lunch break to fix the shower! Breakfast was great, free wine & beer at check in
Cons: Upgrades, it felt like the 80's :(
Location: The parking lot is clean, pool area was clean. Cheese factory is close, Cape Lookout is a must for beach fun and dont miss the cave at Oceanside!
A single room with 2 beds was high, but we were also there on a holiday weekend so the price was taken with a grain of salt. We were a group of 4 families, our room was the only one that was properly reserved. The other 3 families were booked with no kids so at the time of check in we had 8 misplaced kids to fit into rooms, the staff was able to accommodate but not all of us were charged the same, and the larger family actually paid LESS than the smaller family. Our room had lots of wear. I had seen the commercials for Shilo so I had some expectations to say the least. It was sadly what I would call a sleazy room. It did not feel clean, the beds has significant wear and tear, sleeping in somebody else body imprint is kinda awkward. The TV was massive, as in OLD, no flat screen, just a large chassis on the back and you could only watch it from the bed since it needed to be turned for anybody else to view it. ALSO, our shower, day at the beach, we are sandy in places never intended and my hubby goes to jump in, we ignored the torn shower curtain and he quickly realizes there is NO SHOWER HEAD, just a pipe spraying all over, after calling for repair the "houseman" says "cant you take baths?". Eventually it got fixed after several calls and me having to go to the front desk.

Pros: Staff were friendly and it was on the main street and nice location
Cons: Renovate this hotel, it is well used!
It is dated and the room was a "smoking" room in the past but still smells of smoke, not good for an asthmatic! Would have like to have known that before. Beds were comfortable and we were there for 1 night, we were out there before 8AM! Also, thought it was "over priced for what I got." Marginal amenities.

Location: Cheese and wine ...
"Non-smoking" rooms (2) smelled of stale smoke. Hard to cover up when inconsiderate folks ignore the rules. Can only hope they were charged a fee but doubt it.

Comfortable, quiet, clean and spacious room

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: Our room was not restocked daily with items like Kleenex.
Location: Ocean beach, Tillamook Cheese Factory (and ice cream cones!), great microbrew pubs nearby, awesome seafood restaurants on the beach, Saturday market
We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Shilo. We had stayed there before, and have come to view it as our home away from home. Decent complimentary breakfast with scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. Our room was quite spacious, with a table and chairs, sofa, sink and vanity separate from the shower and toilet, and plenty of space for luggage. Our room was in the hotel section toward the back of the property, an de had a view of the foliage out back. Nice. The grounds are very clean and well kept. We will definitely return to our Shilo!

Outdated hotel. Still used an actual key for rooms

Posted Jun 24, 2014
The pool needed to be refinished. And yhe rooms still used a physical key.
