The hotel was quiet and clean. Outdated, but I don't need the fanciest finishes. The only thing that felt weird was that it shared a parking lot with a Walgreens.

Rude staff. Booked wrong hotel online since they have 2 different locations and tried to cancel and they did not let me so even though I didn’t spend the night there I was charged.

So sorry about the inconvenience Monica. It looks like you attempted a same-day cancellation. Since our cancellation policy requires notification of cancellation at least 24 hours before check-in, the desk agent that you spoke with requested that you call management in the morning, as she was not authorized to waive the cancellation-fee for a same-day cancellation. Since you never called back, and we no longer have any other locations in the area, we are not able to waive a same-day cancellation fee for the reason you've provided. We also hadn't heard anything until Expedia called us two weeks later, so a refund would not be possible. Our cancellation policy ensures that guests give us enough notice that the room is capable of being rented to someone else. That room was held throughout the entire night, and we were unable to rent it. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and suggest that in the future, your reservations are made with more caution. Your complaint has been pushed forward to management, please let us know if there is anything more we can do to help you.

The facility is very run down. The drapes in my room were torn, the carpet had stains, the shower had tiles that didn’t match the others. The coffee was all decaf and when I asked for some regular, the pot was really dirty & grounds came out. The hot tub was broken. There was also a pile of someone’s things in garbage bags outside in front of the pool window that had been discarded and left behind. I would not stay there again.

Got in about an hour early, was able to check in, bonus. Been here multiple times and sad to hear that they no longer serve breakfast, was really looking forward to some biscuits and gravy. Room is comfortable

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and quiet. Only negative was that the pool though chemically clean per the staff, looked filthy. The water was also cooler than comfortable. None of the family managed to brave the pool.

Still, we are sorry to hear that you weren't quite pleased with our pool area. While we can't do much about the temperature feeling too cool (our pool temperature is dictated by the Oregon Health Department's guidelines), we do like to take our guest's feedback to better the experience we can provide. Although we keep the water chemically balanced and clean, your concerns about the overall look of the pool are being pushed forward to the correct departments so we can improve on ourselves for our guests.

The property was dated and needs some upgrades and needs some improvements. Also the staff wasn't accommodating when I arrived a little earlier than I planned and wouldn't let me check-in and the hotel looked mostly empty. I came back at around 5:45pm to find know one there with a sign saying "well be back later", so I left again and came back a third time at 7:30pm and finally was able to check-in. I'm probably never going to use Shilo Inns again; for this inconvenience the staft should of offered a discount for my stay, but they didn't. Your hotel needs to work on customer service. Thanks, Kip

Thank you for giving us some feedback on your stay Kip! I'm so sorry that things didn't go as well as they should have. It looks like the reason we couldn't check you in was because your early check in approved by management was for 2pm, and you originally came in at 1pm. Our desk agent at the time was not authorized to waive three hours' worth of early check-in fees since check-in time starts at 4pm, and management had already waived two of them. We are also trying to find who had left you waiting in the lobby, according to our cameras, we actually had two desk agents at the front desk between 5pm and 6pm. Please let us know if you had maybe come back in at a different time that day so we can further investigate and hopefully get the matter resolved. Since there is usually one desk agent on at a time, sometimes there will be short amounts of time that the desk will be unoccupied while that agent is using the bathroom or running extra supplies to other guests. However, if you were left waiting unattended for an extended period of time, we would like to find out why, and prevent it from happening again. Unfortunately, none of our desk agents at the hotel can offer any discounts for your stay because you booked through a 3rd party website. We will however, push these issues forward to the correct departments to get any issues resolved. Thanks again Kip, we hope you have a wonderful day.

Very comfortable and clean bedding and pillows. Very kind and helpful hostess checking us in and sincerely asking if there was anything more she could do for us. She was very friendly to our dog. This Shilo had a convenient "dog walking" area where dog waste bags and trash receptacle was right there.

Charged me for a dogg that was in my room for a matter of a couple hours. The dog is a service animal....then when i approach the front desk about it theyy say im harassing them! I did not get the rate expedia said i would get.

Hello Joseph, thank you for leaving us an incorrect and not factual review. The General Manager was present during your check in process. You were asked if you had a dog with you. You stated you did not. Upon you guest going back and forth with items to your rooms. She brought in a small dog in her arms. The desk agent with the GM upon noticing the dog informed your guest that you will be charged for the pet.Service animals are not held by their owners as they have to be ready to perform their tasks they have been trained to perform. The next day upon you asking about the fee both you and your guest started becoming hostile towards my desk agent working. Upon your check out date, due to your behavior with the previous agent, we refused to extend your stay. Upon us telling you that, you started to yell and and yet again became hostile towards the desk agent, at which point we had to call the police to remove you off the property. Non of the staff members broke any Shilo Inn policy, or Local, State, Federal Laws.

I would never stay there again, smells like mildew, room was freezing when we checked in wore my coat for an hour warming up the room. Pool was out of order, hot tub was out of order, nothing was working?? Terrible place. Would not remind this hotel to anyone.

Thank you Peggy for your review.I am sorry your room was freezing when you arrived. Due to measures to save on energy during the year we don't pre-heat or pre-cool rooms. We also don't know which rooms will be occupied until the guest checks in. As such we don't want to heat or cool rooms that may end up empty.Our pool and hottub has been listed on Expedia as not available for some time. We do recommend for guests to contact the hotel directly for Information about what we have to offer, and to verify that our select amenities are open during your stay.

So far we have been medium disappointed. The front desk attendant was very nice. The property is pretty run down. I booked this spot partially because there was a pool and it’s closed. The hotel is pretty shabby and could use some updating/repairs. TV’s very old, etc.

I made the mistake of not calling to see if the pool was active. I made the assumption it would be working. The main reason I got this hotel was * indoor pool * hot tub * complementary breakfast * steam room I got none of that, I was so bored at the hotel. The room had stained carpets and ceilings Ducting tape was on the floor to keep the carpet in place. Drive in was a sharp Corner that was a bit sketchy with how fast people pulled around the blind spot. The hotel was really clean it wasn’t too big of an issue to me. the smudged crusty (I’m assuming boogers) on the window was gross. Whenever you go to the Oregon coast the indoor pool is absolutely mandatory especially during rainy weather. Part of my trip being ruined was the lack of utilities. Walking around at night wasn’t very fun comparing it to swimming or using a hot tub. I was stuck here for three nights. Bored. Very unhappy about having to go buy breakfast when I had been advertised a complimentary breakfast. We had no silverware. We asked for bowls they gave us two red solo cups. I’m holding this against Shilo. If I had known they were struggling and had no staff I wouldn’t have booked a room. Immediately after checking in I had regrets of not picking a different hotel. My trip had been ruined from the very start, along with many other disappointments this was the very start. They had the pool room closed off. I had seen two people in there walking around. Very outdated property. Paint in the room was peeling and the old carpet had an obvious odour. Gloomy environment. If you want the bare minimum and can handle experiencing the 1990s again for under $100. This is the place for you.

The staff was pleasant. I got into the room. I had a dog with me and it smelled like yarn. And there were stains all over the floor, to the point that it smelts so bad I couldn't sleep. I had to get up and leave.

This hotel was great in regards to location as it lies in Warrenton but just across the bridge from Astoria. We stayed for the 10k race across the Columbia River Bridge and the parking for it was 6 minutes from the hotel. The staff was also very kind and helpful. However, the hotel appears understaffed to the point that the poor cleaning staff was working into the evening and the hotel’s restaurant is closed. The building looks old and unkempt too and the bed was a little rough.

The only positive I can think of is that the sheets seemed to be clean and the bed was somewhat comfortable (not great but passable). That kept it from being a complete zero rating. The check in gal was rude/unprofessional. The carpets were nasty, paint was peeling or where fresh pain was applied it was very sloppy (ceiling paint bumped by different color wall paint) Fan in bathroom was deafening shower floor was was peeling up. Pool looked gross, hot tub was empty and out of service (surrounded by unsightly yellow tape) Homeless people wandering around the parking lot. Restaurant directly next door look like it’s out of business and run down before it closed. All of that for $300 per night! I’m shocked Expedia would even allow this hotel on its platform. I will never stay here again!

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The shower barely worked. The hot tub was out of order. For what I got I paid too much. When I booked the room on expedia it said One amount and Shilo billed me for twice as much. I will NEVER stay at a Shilo Inn again and will never use expedia again. From now on I will call the motels directly.

This older property has been not properly maintained. It is old and run down, yet clean and comfortable. The wifi is slow and locks up. the showers were top notch! I did enjoy that blasting shower and it had my same shower head as at home.
