Pros: the location, the views from each room. the new pool, spa and fire pit area is wonderful.
Location: whale watches, great beaches, bearskin neck, rocky neck art colony
Used to come here with my mother and young children and always had a great time. Came back with my now adult daughter and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. The new pool, spa and fire pit are fabulous.. The views are fantastic and the location can't be be beat. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet has a good assortment of foods and the cookies are delicious.

Wonderful stay, exceeded our expectations!Posted Jun 27, 2014
We booked this hotel online late in the evening while rolling into town and were pleasantly surprised by just how nice it turned out to be! Comfortable, nice, clean, & charming, with a wonderfully friendly staff. I was actually sad we couldn't stay longer.

great stayPosted Nov 3, 2013
able to arrive early - cery much appreciated since it was a spur if the moment trip for one night with some one from Germany who had no other time to experience Cape Ann. Staff was wonderful. Loved being able to take the bikes for a Sunday morning ride along the shore - simply magical. Sitting in the room at dawn looking out over the ocean was unforgetable. The best sleep EVER in a hotel --very comfortable bed!

Long Weekend and a weddingPosted Oct 16, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location, then the inn itself.
Cons: Parking was a little tight in front of the rooms.
Location: On the ocean, within 4 miles of downtown, lots of nearby tourist activities nearby, boating, shopping, restaurants, beaches
We attended a wedding in Gloucester and decided to make a long weekend. I was familiar with the hotel and decided that it would be a good location. We were greeted like old friends, offered cookies, coffee or tea any time during day and evening. Breakfast was excellent, rooms were very comfortable, and the staff very friendly and willing to help. Overall a very nice weekend. Will go back when in the area. Phil Sullivan

Beautiful ocean viewPosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: Ocean view out front sliders or from nice sitting porch, and golf course out back door, made for a very nice place to stay.
Location: Got into town late and could not find a single restaurant open (other than Pizza) after 10. Even most bars closed at 11 or on a Friday night.
Enjoyable but quiet atmosphere. Not for "late nighters" or partiers.

A wonderful getaway to Gloucester Mass.Posted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Friendly, friendly, friendly
Location: Right on the ocean, waking to the sound of the ocean on the rocks-wonderful
My wife and I recently stayed for four nights at the Bass Rocks Ocean Inn. It was essentially a quick last minute getaway to a place where I had spent my summers as a child. The Bass Rocks Inn was delightful. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The staff were wonderfully helpful and kind - providing us with truly useful information as to where to go and what to do, including good referrals to some of the local restaurants in the area. We chose to walk a fair bit of the time, going to and from the town of Gloucester and the Inn (a good 30 to 45 minute walk depending on the route). The area is charming and authentic. The people we encountered were all friendly and helpful. A very nice time spent in Gloucester. Highly recommended.

Great view, short walk to an awesome beachPosted Aug 5, 2013
Location: Check out Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, and Salem.....great history and art along with amazing homes and beach fronts.
We stayed at Bass Rocks Ocean Inn for 4 nights and had an awesome experience. The staff were very friendly and always working hard to keep the place clean. The chocolate chip cookies were a great treat daily! We traveled up and down the cost from Bass Rocks daily visiting Rockport (which was one of our favorite) and headed down south through Salem. Great experience and enjoyed the history.
