Luxury hotel with characterPosted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: The ambience, comfort and elegance and the excellent staff
Cons: The food
Location: The views of the hills and mountains are superb. We visited the Bobbant Gardens, the Great Orme a limestone outcrop and the Llandudno resort town.
We had a very spacious cottage with excellent facilities and our dog was made welcome. The main rooms were spacious and elegantly furnished. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was good but expensive. We had one evening meal nouveau cuisine style which I found disappointing. We enjoyed a swim in a very good pool and the jacuzzi and sauna.

Very relaxing !!Posted Jan 17, 2015
Pros: The peace and quiet !
Cons: We had a cottage, a microwave would help ! Also we have a small dog so it's a lovely for walks and boot scraper outside the cottage would help.
Location: We just spent the few days we had alone in the hotel ! We didn't go out anywhere this time !
We have a very quiet 40th Wedding Anniversary ! Just right for January, afternoon tea with friends & family ! Wonderful dinner alone ! Perfect !!

Quite, relaxing historic country retreat.Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: Setting, relaxing, spa pool, parking, gardens, fine dining. Good local beers.
Cons: Cellular data coverage is bad (EE, O2) - not their fault, but WiFi was almost useless. Don't count on using internet to research trips, activities.
Location: Up near Llandudno, so close to north coast, Anglesey and of course sits at the north edge of the Snowdonia Park. North Wales generally beautiful.
Stayed 3 nights, from Friday night. Stayed in Gingerbread Cottage, slightly away from the main house. Split level with living room and private garden below, kitchen/bathroom in the middle and bedroom above. Used the pool in the adjacent spa complex, room service and fine dining in the hall on Saturday night.

Fabulous suitePosted Oct 16, 2014 on Hotels
This country house is magnificent, the staff attentive and really really helpful. We were in the Lady Augusta suite which had two large rooms plus bathroom and felt so homely. The lounge was really welcome, one day we had lunch out and it was so good to be able to curl up on a settee and watch tv in the evening, rather than go down and share a lounge with other guests. The fine dining was a bit of a let down, very small portions and that night I went to bed still hungry. The wine was awful, but maybe we chose badly, but at £38 it broke my heart to leave it all! I had a really good back and shoulder massage at the spa. Teas and coffees were always delivered to our room within minutes of ordering but I would still prefer to have t&c making facilities in my room. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay though and would definitely go back if I were to revisit the area.

Wonderful stay, but surprising lapsesPosted Sep 28, 2014 on Hotels
We had a wonderful stay at Bodysgallen this September. The hall and the grounds are beautiful, and the interactions with staff were nearly all pleasant. Unfortunately, we did have some small issues with service that we raised with the manager at check out. While the chief issue, that our room had not been cleaned nor our towels changed in two days, was only a mild irritation, the manager's attitude and response left us with a sour taste in our mouths. It was a situation that could very easily have been avoided. Had we not had this exchange with the manager, we might not have been as affronted when we discovered on examining our bill after checkout that we had been charged for dinner and wine on a night we were not even in the hotel. This was resolved, but the only apology we received was some time later and from the concierge. Obviously, these are small issues. But given the considerable expense of the hotel and its commitment to provide exemplary service, we left feeling slightly let down — though no less refreshed.

Fabulous tranquil hotelPosted Jun 5, 2014
A very old hotel full of character within an amazing setting. The gardens and walkways are so tranquil with great views is Conwy castle. Stayed in a quaint garden cottage with everything you could ask for. Ate in both restaurants and were both very good. Will definitely return to thus hotel

Superb location and gardensPosted May 31, 2014 on Hotels
Stayed in one of the cottages in the grounds of this beautiful country hotel. The cottage was comfortable with a huge bed and appropriate country "cottage style"decor. The one comment I would have about the cottage was that the kitchenette had no cooking facilities at all - just a sink, kettle and fridge so there it would be impossible to self cater - not that we wanted too! The grounds are stunning to wander around and the spa was excellent. We loved that we could have room service and have it delivered to the cottage - perfect for a cosy evening in! The room service food was delicious. Overall this was a perfect weekend away location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
