“Great hotel for a cheap price.”

For the cheap price that I paid, this hotel was a pleasant find. The room was spotless, Only stayed one night. As others have mentioend, it is mostly a hotel for seniors. Only negative I found was that nothing is open - no coffee, etc before 8am. 7 would have been better for those of us who like an early start.

“You'll like or dislike this hotel depending on what your looking for.”

This hotel has both good that bad things. The price was great but as the picture shows you wont get a seaside room at this price. The hotel is located right on the pier and across the street from a park. The hotel offers entertainment, and pub so you dont have to worry about drinking and driving, the elevator takes you down to the pub and show area. Also the hotel is just above a small carnival like area that has lots of things for the kids and shops and food booths. All the tour buses and boat tours are also located in this area so you dont have to walk but a couple of hundred feet. This is also entered through the elevator. You can walk from the train station but I'd recommended calling a taxi the first time. You cannot see the hotel from there and chances are you'll get lost. The taxi's office is right there and its only 3 pounds to the hotel. On the bad side the rooms are very small, we had to put our suitcases on the bed or in the closet as it blocks you from moving in the room. The showers too, were very small and not recommended for a big person, the showers also needed some maintence, there were rust stains inside. The floors are extremely squeeky as its an old hotel, it woke us up when anyone upstairs was moving around in the morning. The hotel also has a stale, musty but not foul odor. My stay was just for spending a night and not staying in my hotel room so I'd defendately stay again. However if your a clean freak, or looking for a 5 star quality its not for you.

“What we expected”

This hotel is right on the pier in a very pretty location. However, inside it's quite dated and the rooms and food are not spectacular. The beds aren't very comfortable and the walls are fairly thin. It is a very inexpensive hotel, though, so don't be surprised. The staff were friendly and it's not bad for one night. Anything longer than that, I would have stayed somewhere more comfortable.

“Faded Elegance”

Excellent location, reasonable prices, resonably good food (breakfast and dinner buffets with a fair selection), Victorian splendor in need of upkeep.
