Good hotel in a great location

Posted May 27, 2015
Location: Great location near Snowdonia Mountain Railway, National Slate Museum & Electric Mountain.
The room was a bit on the small side and the décor a bit tired. The bathroom was small. But, we didn't go on holiday to spent all our time in our hotel room. The location of the hotel couldn't be better, a few hundred feet from the Snowdonia Mountain Railway. Breakfast was good, with all the usual things. In the evening, we ate in the bar. Both the service and quality of food were excellent. There is a big lounge area to relax in with a pint. The hotel is set in large grounds and woodland, which were nice to walk around. The hotel was supposed to have free Wi-Fi in all the rooms, but it didn't work in our room on the 2nd floor. Worked okay in the bar and lounge areas.

Royal Victoria Hotel - Llanberis

Posted May 19, 2015
Location: Slateman Triathlon.
Nice hotel - could do with a bit of a renovation, as the room we were in was OK but dated. Right next to the door leading into the annex, which creaked like an old wooden ship every time it opened (not great when trying to get to sleep early - there for The Slateman Triathlon). Good sized bath and comfy bed - loads of power sockets. Limited tea selection (in rooms) and the windows had time travelled from the 50s. Some of the food was a bit ropey but the Noodles were fantastic. Nice atmosphere in the bar and OK beer selection. Majority of staff were great, friendly and helpful.

Good stay at interesting hotel

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Character of hotel, good service and great food
Cons: Creaky floorboards in our room
Location: Just opposite Snowdon Mountain Railway. Near other attractions in Llanberis. Easy to get to Carnaerfon, Conwy, North Wales coast and Anglesey.
Hotel is old and rambling but well kept and comfortable. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food in restaurant excellent and bar food more varied, interesting and well cooked than often is the case. Good value for money. Hotel is just over the road from the Snowdon Mountain Railway and near other attractions in Llanberis and Llanberis is situated for easy access to hiking, cycling and sightseeing other parts of North Wales.

Pros: Lovely Hotel , grounds and location
Cons: The Pool table and Juke Box was better in the bar area

This is our 6th stay at the Royal Victoria, and we will be back again in the future

Great location, service and food

Posted Jan 14, 2015 on Hotels.com
Stayed for two nights, very enjoyable, a bit dated but that's what it is, it's been there for a long time. The staff were excellent, location superb, food very good, the only one sour point was that after a strenuous day climbing mount Snowdon on our last day we fancied a late morning lay in, we were awoken by workmen hammering and sawing right above our room from 7am onward, there was no point complaining, we were wide awake and not able to go back to sleep, so we made an early departure. They must have known the workmen were booked and should have warned us or moved us to another room, bad form. Saying that we would book it again and next time ask if we're likely to be woken up rather than allowed to wake in our own time!
