Clearly a popular hotel as it was quite busy

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Pros: Location
Location: Perfect for the Snowdonia Railway, the Lake Railway, and Electric Mountain - all within walking distance- and only a 15 minute drive from tghe Zipwire
Lots of people there who all seemed to be enjoying themnselves. Our room was spotessly clean, as was the en-suite. The bedroom was qite small, but adequate for the one night that we sgtayed. I have recommended it to a dfriend, who has alrady booked in.

Hotel nice but basic.

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Lovely hotel, nice comfort ,just feel that the price/cost doesn't reflect the overall convenience. For example the rooms aren't very big, the shower was very basic and the inner water jets on the shower head wasn't working, so the shower was less effective, the service was also slow at breakfast when waiting for a cooked breakfast order. Overall stay was nice but I just feel you're paying mainly for the location rather than the quality of the hotel in the price of the accommodation.

Great hotel - I love it

I love the location, and the slightly odd layout and the creeky floors. The hotel is what it is. U will either hate it or embrace it

The Royal Victoria Hotel

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Olde world character. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Location: Walking distance to the Snowdon Mountain Railway and the Lakeside Railway. Short drive to Caernarfon Castle.
Lovely old hotel in Llanberis, Caernarfon. The room had been recently painted and the paint smell was a little strong, however overall it was a very comfortable stay.

Just came back from a short stay and the royal Victoria hotel in Snowdonia. Upon arrival we checked in a quickly realised that the staff in this hotel were excellent so polite friendly and genuine.have to say well done to all staff as made the break really good. Hotel it's self was lovely even though saw a sign saying they renavating not complete. Room was fantastic couldn't Ave asked for more. Breakfast was excellent local food used and great taste. Bar was resonably price service was great food was yet again great. Really can't find a fault with the say. Looking forward tk returning for another break.

A bit pricey but in a great location

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Perfectly situated at the foot of Mount Snowdon the hotel is a great starting point for walkers. The rooms are clean and the breakfast sets you up nicely for your ascent. The fact that there was a wedding being held on the night we stopped meant were were rudely awoken at 4am but there's very little the hotel can do about inconsiderate guests. I would recommend it as a more expensive alternative to the numerous B & B's in Llanberis.

Good hotel in a great location

Posted May 27, 2015
Location: Great location near Snowdonia Mountain Railway, National Slate Museum & Electric Mountain.
The room was a bit on the small side and the décor a bit tired. The bathroom was small. But, we didn't go on holiday to spent all our time in our hotel room. The location of the hotel couldn't be better, a few hundred feet from the Snowdonia Mountain Railway. Breakfast was good, with all the usual things. In the evening, we ate in the bar. Both the service and quality of food were excellent. There is a big lounge area to relax in with a pint. The hotel is set in large grounds and woodland, which were nice to walk around. The hotel was supposed to have free Wi-Fi in all the rooms, but it didn't work in our room on the 2nd floor. Worked okay in the bar and lounge areas.

They didn't clean our room, they didn't change the towels.
