I love Hotel Allen but feel it is desperately in need of money being spent on it ie new paint, refurbishment etc. When it rained the window leaked on to the single bed in my room so I'm happy there was nobody sleeping in that bed. But otherwise it was quiet, clean, excellent location, enjoyed swimming in the pool. If I had the money I'd buy it myself, sitting on a gold mine in the location etc

I was there for 5 nights. I found the staff to be quite friendly. Overall, I was happy with my stay. My only gripe is the cleanliness. There was hair all over the floor and toilet lid (I’m bald so I know it wasn’t mine!), and when I spoke to ‘housekeeping’ they directed me to the vacuum cleaner for me to clean it up. I just didn’t think I should have to do that considering I was the guest and I didn’t just pay for 1 night.

It looks like something out of a movie in the 70's. Ceiling paint coming off. ripped carpet with staining. Pool unusable. Cant shut the fridge without a latch. Mould on the roof in the bedroom.

The room was dirty, including the inside of the fridge. The carpet and overall cleanliness of the accommodation was poor. There was a full domestic situation directly outside my room on one afternoon, which I’m not sure was resolved or not. The food was great, as were the staff though.

The shower was mouldy, bed wasn’t made properly, and my son in-law got questioned by a staff member about who he was and asked for his drivers licence for no reason. He was made feel very uncomfortable while staying there. I would definitely not recommend to anyone!!
