Old school charm
We really enjoyed our stay at the Forest and Vale hotel. Yes it is old fashioned and a bit dated but it was beautifully clean and our room was very comfortable, with a good quality bed. We ate in the hotel and the food was very good , well presented and plenty of options. The staff were all friendly and approachable.we had a really quiet room overlooking the garden. Although the clientele were all ollder than us , this was wasn’t a problem and I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel many times it’s a lovely traditional property with friendly helpful staff It’s well appointed for a number of restaurants in and around the Main Street

Excellent Hotel and Staff.
Everyone was welcoming and were accommodating with requests for meals, drinks and extra requirements in our room. Jaqueline, Harri, Tom, Alan and Sharon provided that extra care and attention to detail. These are the names we remember but please note every member of hotel staff provided good care and customer service skills. We will return.

NYMR return trip.
Great location. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Excellent food the breakfast one the best. Perhaps some USB sockets available in room’s for charging as we are so used to them in other hotels. Plastic glasses in rooms is not very sustainable today.

This was our second stay at the Forest and Vale. Our first since 'lockdown' and we were delighted that the hotel was as good as before. Unfortunately, we could only get a standard double room in the 'cottage annexe' No view but this was perfectly comfortable and adequate for our 4-night stay. Breakfasts were delightful, Cooked to order with plenty of choice. Good dinner menu too. The biggest plus point for this hotel though is the staff. Always friendly and helpful Few if any hotels we have stayed in have a better team.

The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.The food we had was excellent and our room was very quiet we could not hear the party at all that was happening downstairs . The only thing that let this trip down was dust in the bedroom i had to wipe the headboard bedside cabinet and dresser . On arrival I placed my handbag on the bedside cabinet and when i lifted it up you could see where it had sat.

Good hotel, well-positioned.
Stayed here before. Handily placed for the centre of Pickering - 2 minute walk to the main street. Staff always friendly and helpful. Perhaps slightly overpriced for this type of hotel, but no so much that wouldn't stay here again. Handier than the nearest big chain rival, which is way out of town.

Perfect long weekend
Perfect weekend, checked in maybe 1 hr early Lisa and Alan made us feel very welcome. Hotel was very clean, great location for the whole area would definitely recommend.
