Warm welcome,all the staff genuinely lovely.Posted Apr 8, 2015
A really good feeling from the minute we entered to the minute we left. All the staff are a credit, clearly they must enjoy working there. Always helpful & friendly. Great room very comfortable, lovely garden, plenty of parking. Nice dining rooms, bar, lounge area. Evening meals both off dining menu or barmenu bar menu, tasty & a good portion. Cooked breakfast could have been better, not so flavoursome although sausages & bacon of good quality.. Grilled bacon too hard, fried bread over done then eniiemic! Mushrooms soggy, tomato tasteless. My husband never complains but totally agreed with me! Shame as the rest all good! Pickering good central village. You can pick up the train from here to Whitby.

Nice hotel close to town centrePosted Jan 1, 2015
Pros: Bar, room, bath, location, decor.
Cons: A corridor had chairs stacked up.
Location: Great cycling nearby. Good pubs in walking distance for good value for money food.
Easy to find, pleasant staff, Nice bar, loads of hot water for the bath.

Traditional hotelPosted Aug 21, 2013
Location: Handy for Pickering centre, easy to find
Traditional Hotel, not stylish but perfectly good. Superior room was very large and comfortable, with a table and two armchairs, as well as a desk/dressing table with chair. Only slight drawback was that the room was on a corner of 2 major roads, and while the double glazing did a very good job of keeping the noise down, it also kept the heat in. The Hotel were obviously aware of this as there was a large fan in the room, but I feel it could have been intolerable in really warm weather.

Traditional qualityPosted Jun 22, 2013
Pros: The room with a quiet garden view
Cons: evening meals were not notable
Location: Pickering is perfectly placed as a tourist centre and the town in a charming old fashioned market town.
The Hotel has traditional charm and is in good condition throughout with the Garden suite rooms being modern, very smart and clean.
