Excellent location

Very impressed wiith this hotel, the staff were very friendly, the room was immaculaately clean and the llocation was iseal. The only thing that spoiled our stay were the noisy guests who kept us awake late at night and woke us up early morning ,they didn't seem to have any consideration for fellow guests. To be fair when we complaiined to receptiion ithey dealt with them but it was so annoying. Breakfast was really delicious and, there was plenty to choose from. Well worth the money.

York Tourist

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Everything EXCEPT the bed/mattresses
Cons: Use Hilton USA mattresses & "toppers" in the beds. NCP Validat.n of hotel stay needs careful explanatn
Location: 15m down/over bridge puts you in the shops. Go to NRM&Air Museum 5m downhill restaurants XL China,XL Turkish(Med), Indonesn
Helpful staff, good breakfast, well appointed & planned space in room. Would score higher - except . . . the bed/mattress was the hardest of any we've used in Europe & USA. Not acceptable in comparison with USA Hilton or Best Western. Concrete?

Good for single person per room

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Breakfast and helpful staff
Location: National Railway Museum is near and all of York is easily accessed.
Room and bathroom clean but for a travelling couple with cases the accommodation is very limited with no space for packing away clothes or storing cases.

Great hotel

Fantastic hotel, great location. Menu is limited, but is priced well. Parking cost £10 for 24 hours, so this should be facted in with your stay price. Overall, clean room, great choice of TV stations, and best of all air con in each room.

Well positioned hotel for sightseeing

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: It is well situated for seeing York on foot and for access from the station
Location: Several good restaurants in easy reach. Near the National Railway Museum and maximum 15minutes walk to other side of walled part.
We found the hotel easily on foot from the train station. It is new and fresh. The room was well appointed if minimalistic. Beds were very comfortable and bathroom well laid out. Bar area was small and although food was served it wasn't very inviting even for a drink, possibly OK for meeting before going on elsewhere. Breakfast is buffet style and was adequate for that type of setup. It is a good hotel for basic bed and breakfast.

Brand new, ultra convenient

We brought our 2 kids for a weekend trip to York. Immaculate and brand new. Lovely breakfast included--not even crowded at 10 am on Sunday. 5 min walk to train station and Railway Museum, 15 min walk to Minster.

Excellent hotel in York

Hotel is ideally located near the railway station and a short walk to city centre. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Rooms were immaculately clean and very spacious, bed was very comfortable. Decor throughout is modern, cheerful and tasteful. Breakfast was good although hot drinks were pretty awful and only thing that let the hotel down. We travelled by train so cannot comment on parking. This is a modern chain hotel with very high standards and would highly recommend from our experience.
