Nice enough, but no WiFiPosted Aug 31, 2014
Cons: Internet connectivity. Hello, it's 2104!
Location: Bus, or 30 minute walk to the city center. Nice pub across the road. Not much else!
Pretty standard rooms, clean and tidy, polite staff, nice pub nearby for dinner, easy bus (and reasonable walk) to city center. Disappointed that wifi was not free; even more disappointed when I paid and it was unusably slow. Not what you want these days. At least they refunded the money.

Holiday Inn York, U.K.Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Rooms were clean, staff was very accommodating, provided a good supply of tea and coffee in the rooms.
Cons: They should provide face cloths in the bathroom for North American visitors.
Location: Good location, 1.50 mile walk from the centre of York. Race track close by, plenty to see and do example York Minister, Bus tours of York.
Excellent hotel, good service, clean rooms, only downside is that in the UK they do not provide face cloths.

Convenient locationPosted Jun 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
Excellent property right next to York race track. 2 good pubs right across the street....both serve meals so you have options. Access to the city is good....bus stops outside hotel....maybe 5 minute ride into city centre.

Nearby Park and Ride and the parking provided makes this hotels location close to the racecourse acceptable for a city break. The hotel is tired and needs updating. That being said the staff welcome and the cleanliness of rooms generally was very good

A bit tiredPosted May 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
I chose this hotel because I have a perception of Holiday Inn as a quality hotel chain.the hotel itself is quite impressive but the fixtures and fittings are in need of renewal. Whilst we were there there were 2 coach loads of Chinese visitors that completely overwhelmed reception during check in. The hotel should have made special check in arrangements for this group as reception and the operator were not available to other guests during check in and check out. Only two staff on reception and apparently this included the hotel operator as no one answered the phone when I wanted to enquire about an issue. The buffet breakfast was fine with plenty of room and the foods was topped up regularly.

Staff were incredibly friendly from checking-in through to checking-out and nothing was too much trouble. Good value for money and the breakfast is highly recommended.
