This is a very pleasant hotel that is very close to the centre of York. The bar overlooks the river, which is very nice. I stayed on the 7th floor in a very clean room with spectacular views across the city.

Got a room at the front of the hotel, heard every pin drop outside. Had I not brought ear plugs, my two nights would have been a wreck. No remorse from the front either...

The hotel is a short walk from York station and all the usual attractions you would like to see in York. Close to many restaurants and shops and the hotel is along side the river so nice views from the bar. Breakfast was nice good selection of hot and cold food and a large seating area so no trouble getting somewhere to sit or waiting.

The staff at the property was wonderful and the location is great. Unfortunately, their 'upgrade' to a Radisson (instead of the Park Inn it used to be) has made this hotel no longer preferred in my book. 1. No longer have mini-fridges in the room, which would be okay, but 2. There are no vending machines and no way to get anything to drink (including sodas) until the bar opens at 3pm. All I wanted was a diet coke/coke zero, which wasn't possible. If I bought some from down the street, there was no place to store them in the room. Location is still great and the views are amazing, but not as convenient as it once was.

This hotel was clean,but very overpriced for what it was. Not much better than an IBIS and it cost me £176!!! I know it can be even even higher. As soon as I arrived the booking could not be processed on the system and created loads of problems. We finally got our room and it had to be sorted on check out. It took forever to sort and was nearly overcharged as well. However, the lady on reception was great and very helpful. The bathroom had hardly any shower gel,the tv was at a weird angle in the bedroom, the chair didnt fit properly under the table and the drinks were overpriced. It was a clean hotel, but just not worth the money! Dearer than London prices.

The hotel was fine enough and the staff were all friendly. Could use a little updating, but the bed was comfortable and the linen soft and clean. The shower in our room was luke warm but I advised them (my son who was next door had a perfectly hot shower so I think that is a room-specific issue). It is VERY conveniently located for exploring York and the views from the 8th floor were great - Breakfast was good too and plenty of it. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Great room and service but experience not great
The hotel is based in quite a rough area I must admit and the outside of the hotel looks quite run down and unpleasant. The car park is also a bit rough and the width of the spaces are so inconsistent with some giving almost the width of disabled spaces and some others barely fitting the car in. I found the parking process a little confusing at first because I didn't expect to be able to just enter the car park and get a ticket as you would any other car park. I thought I would have needed my hotel card or something so I parked outside the hotel and ran inside to check-in with the hope of getting a hotel card to get into the parking. Upon entry, the foyer was lovely I must admit, I encountered the self service check-in stations which one of the required fields was my "Room Number". As you can imagine since I had not yet checked in I was baffled at what to do but turns out after speaking to the concierge it is my booking reference number rather than my room number. Anyway, I parked the car and that was that. The room was lovely. Modern, cozy and clean. Air con / heater was also nice to have. Even with all the lights on it was still quite dark to be fair so somewhat difficult to do some things. The bathroom was very nice too with a 5x magnification mirror (great for contact lens wearers) and a heated mirror. Big fan of the rainfall shower head. I did try to dispense some shampoo though and the nozzle just fell off which wasn't ideal as seen in the pictures.

As a city centre hotel our car park is located under the hotel so as to provide space for more bedrooms, the pillars holding up the building do make some of the parking spaces smaller than others and for that I can only apologise. They have a small 50 car carpark, but they let the public use it so if your staying at the hotel at a busy time you won’t be able to park in it, we ended up driving round York for 2 hours trying to find a parking space. The staff were friendly but the rooms dont look like the pictures we had a family room which cost over £300 and we had 1 king bed and a double sofa bed no bunk bed as pictured, which ment there was nowhere to sit in the room and no space at all. Bathroom was dated and smelt abit. Overall just not what I expected for over £300 a night.

Great hotel
Great hotel for a city break in York. It is very central, although parking may be an issue. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were amicable and they had some mulled wine. :)

Despite several requests for twin beds, we arrived to double , was asked to go out while they sorted it and when we got back it was still a double bed so had to wait again while they changed it to twin beds

Check in person was miserable. Offered little info had to ask. Rooms very dark. Why so few lights? Couldn’t unplug the sink. Otherwise clean and comfy. Check out ladies helpful and engaged. Thank you
