Good positionPosted Apr 17, 2015
Pros: Good position
Cons: As above, more toiletries in the bathroom.
Location: Very good position. York has so much to do to entertain both adults and children.
A very well placed hotel with all the sights of York within easy walking distance. The room was fine but standard rooms don't have a view of the river or Minster. I would have liked a bar of soap in the bathroom as well as the hand/shower gel provided. Also body lotion would have been appreciated.

Weekend in York with friendsPosted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: Promixity to city centre, bright modern foyer, efficient staff
Cons: Double bed consisting of 2 uneven height singles with ridge in middle. Friend had nosebleed. Sheets weren't changed, but left as they were.
Location: Shops, culture, York minster, castle museum, pubs and eateries. All good
2nd stay at this hotel. It has been re-furbished since our last stay to pleasing standards. Good experience overall and good value for money

Convenient for walking into York CityPosted Apr 2, 2015
Cons: Reception staff
Location: Just across river to main shops etc, easy walk. Also easy to walk to the city wall nearby.
Having stayed in a Radisson in Edinburgh I was expecting a similar standard but I was wrong This is very much a budget style hotel which is fine if that is what you are expecting. I guess it is 3* not 4* but it is budget - no nice toiletries, just dispensers on the walls etc. Room a bit small, beds a bit soft, quilts a bit lumpy, and we had trouble getting it warm enough. However it did the job and the staff on the reception desk were exceptionally helpful and friendly which made up for the basic standards. It was also cold in the dining room.

Hotel in a good locationPosted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Good location not far from the train station
Cons: The door did not fit correctly and the safety latch didn't close, there was a massive draft coming in from the corridor under the door
Location: All location attractions nearby within walking distance
We stayed here for only one night, room was fine. Breakfast in the morning wasn't the biggest selection and was luke warm as it wasn't busy

Birthday weekend awayPosted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: Location was excellent as it is so close to train station. Also where it is within the city lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: The air conditioning was difficult to maintain during the stay.
Location: Museums everywhere so much to see and do. A lot of choice of world wide cuisine restaurants.
So much to see and do in York couldn't fit it all in. We visited York minster, castle museum and the viking museum. Missed out on a ghost walk, york dungeon and a boat ride on the river. Also railway museum is a must see too. These are a must for when we visit again. Plus restaurants and bars are very good for a good night out.
