Beautiful placePosted Apr 14, 2014
Set in a beautiful little village, Sophie's is such a tranquil place. We stayed here after attending a wedding at nearby Ripley Castle and were very pleased that this was what we opted for rather than staying nearer or in Harrogate. The room was very clean, very private and had beautiful views that we could see through windows that extended to make a balcony. The bed was so comfy and we both had a wonderful nights sleep. The shower was lovely and hot.The hosts were very accommodating and nothing seemed to be a problem for them. The breakfast was served in their adjoining cafe/bakery. Was a good choice of food on offer, cooked really well and very filling. Just what we needed. If we are in the area, we will definitely visit here again.

Warmest duvet I've ever slept under!Posted Nov 14, 2013
Very tasteful large double bedroom. Lovely colour scheme. Bed very comfortable, especially if you like a very high tog feather duvet. Couple of small issues: one bedlamp not working and couldn't find Sophie in the house to get it replacedso ended up not being able to read before bedtime, which was a little irritating. Couple of items missing from shower room (shampoo & conditioner, shower cap & tissues) Breakfast fairly standard but pleasant nontheless.

Sophies B & B 20th-22nd JunePosted Jun 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Just spent 2 wonderful nights at Sophies B & B. What a gem of a place, everything was perfect and Sophie was very welcoming and gave us lots of tips on things to do and see. The breakfasts were wonderful and really set us up for the day. Had a lovely walk to Ripley Castle from Hampsthwaite and rewarded ourselves with a visit to the ice cream parlour in Ripley, yummy! Will definitely stay again when we next visit the area.

This really is a great little place, minutes out of Harrogate and lovely accomodation in a peaceful village. Breakfast the next morning is excellent as well, highly recommended.

Excellent access to HarrogatePosted Dec 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
Booked this B&B on the off chance and discovered a gem. Lovely and friendly, delicious breakfast. We went to the local pub just a few doors away for our evening meal and were surprised by the splendid quality of the food. We are planning a return visit.

Peaceful break in the Yorshire countrysidePosted Sep 10, 2012
Pros: Great little B&B with fantastic views
Location: Picturesque hamlet 10 mins from Harrogate centre
Sophie's coffee house and B&B was completely gutted and refurbished about 18 months ago to a really high standard, with an emphasis on comfort and a home-from-home feel. We had a fantastic weekend, Sophie and her staff were so friendly, and the English breakfast was delicious; we would highly recommend this little gem for a relaxing get-away-from-it-all break.

Sophie's little GemPosted Jul 16, 2012
Pros: Quiet and pleasing setting
Cons: No problem to us but there are stairs to climb for those who are less mobile
Location: Ideally positioned for those not wanting to stay in the centre of Harrogate
Wonderful little B&B over a first class Bistro serving a excellent variety of foods most of which are home made or locally sourced. The breakfast is cooked to order with nothing being too much trouble for the staff. Sophie and her family make perfect hosts. The B&B is situated in a small but pleasant village with quaint local pub (Joiners Arms - see the Good Beer Guide) and a well stocked corner shop. There is a good taxi service in the village, Martin provides a tidy Merc and is smart in appearance.... all in all we had a good experience at Sophie's

Excellent B&B situated in village of HempthwaitePosted Dec 29, 2011
Pros: The room, views, lovely breakfast, good location
Location: Set in pretty village, pub with restaurant and within easy reach of Harrogate town centre
Lovely B&B with beautiful country views from the attic bedroom with the added bonus of a great coffee shop being below that serves excellent pastries, cakes plus good quality lunches at reasonable prices.
