Close to the centre of townPosted Sep 1, 2014
We stayed for three nights, it was clean and comfortable. It was very close to the town centre, so just a short walk to all the facilities York has to offer.

Nice Pub/hotel near centre of YorkPosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff. Nice food. Hotel room was recently re-newed. Nicely done.
Cons: The security light for the emergency exit was constantly on, in the hotelroom. It was a annoying light. Sleeping in a spotlight didn't work for me.
Location: Perfect located near the main centre of York.
We're a family of 4 and stayed in the family room of this accomondation. It's perfectly situated near the centre of York. In the back garden it has about 4-5 parking spaces. And a nice terrace. The staff is very friendly and our food was very well. Our room was recently re-newed and it was done nicely.

The pub was located close to the city which was great for sight seeing, car park is easy to fun once you know which way to go, staff was very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. It was closing on the day we left for a major refurb, would definelty go again and can't wait to see what it's like after the refurb!

Great location but basic old tired roomPosted May 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
The staff were welcoming and friendly however the room was dated , shower made a noise , tiles were black mouldy and toilet sounded like it was gonna drop through floor when flushed . Best big was location and breakfast . However the road was noisy at night and first thing with traffic .

Brilliantly situated, about 1 min walk from CentrePosted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Proximity to York town, parking, staff, the breakfast, the relaxing sleep!
Cons: A lick of paint, mould eradication in the grout, and fix bathroom the window. Refurb planned for this summer, and it will be a cracking place!
Location: 1 Minute from the Cathedral and York town centre, with everything THAT has to offer!
The staff were fantastic, the food (cooked breakfast) was delicious, beautifully cooked . The room was clean, but we decided not to shower as the bathroom window was broken and it was cold, but the shower cubicle itself need re-grouting. The grout was stained with mould, which was off putting. But we had the most relaxing night's sleep I have had in a long time! The bed was very comfortable, our heads hit the pillow and we were asleep until the morning! Pretty good for us!

Ideal locationPosted Apr 20, 2014
Pros: The friendliness of the staff. The position of the pub within York. Able to leave the car and walk to the attractions.
Cons: The overall decoration of the room we stayed in. Lighting in the bathroom.
Location: All attractions are within easy walking distance. York Minster, the national railway museum and the Jorvik centre were the places we visited.
This was an ideal location for anyone wishing to visit York. The staff are friendly and obliging. The place itself seems to have a feel of work in progress. Although the rooms are clean, the bathroom looked as if someone had run out of paint without finishing the job. The beer garden really isn't. A couple of benches for people that smoke and the rest is car park. I would go back, as I now know what to expect. In summary it was good value for money, but just slightly disappointing in finishing.

Hotel is due a re-furbishment and it does need it. It was clean and staff helpful, but rooms wer 'tired' and in need of an update. The essentials were there- clean sheets, towels, tea/ coffee facilities. Breakfast was good- with a choice being offered. Location ideal for exploring York and with on-site parking it is even better.

Average room, great people.Posted Apr 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Clean room, good breakfast, maybe the only drawback was a separate toilet room that looked clean but could have smelled a little better. The staff was more than helpful accommodating my late arrival, and helping out with my parking the next day when I toured the sights in York. In that respect also, the location puts you right at the heart of the old city.
