Needs a bit of tlcPosted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Mostly friendly staff Location
Cons: Some of the decor
Had a nights stay here for a friends birthday. The hotel ok. Most the staff are really friendly and helpful apart from the lady running breakfast who was incredibly rude. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Some of the coridors need a bit of a tidy up and a re paint. Used the pool area and again it just needs a bit of sprucing ok. I would stay again.

Nice hotelPosted Jun 4, 2015
Pros: The friendly staff, the cleanliness of the room & first class breakfast
Cons: Although we only paid cheap rate, the room was noisy at night, due to the extractor fan on the roof of the lower building.
We enjoyed the stay, although we have been to Scarborough many times, it has so many different themes to it. You can enjoy the beach, or wander round the harbour. Walk around the lovely parks, go to the castle ,or go shopping to the many shops. So much to see and do.

Good location but poor hotel.Posted Apr 22, 2015 on Hotels
Bathroom and dining room needed a good clean. Only one of three lights in bathroom was lit. Reported three times over three days to no avail. Poor storage, no draws, shlves in room. Carpets very worn and curtains moth eaten. Additional charges for leisure and pool facilities. Charges of £3 for parking discs which were free at every local shop. Poor organisation at breakfast time constanly running out of plates, food etc. Plates, cups, cutlery were dirty. Reported all to hotel but have received no reply.

Comfortable hotel in a good positionPosted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Very clean and breakfast was good.
Cons: Needs some renovation in parts. Parking is very restricted in the town but the NCP car park suggested by the hotel was just a short walk away.
Location: Central position close to the tram, the beach, the shops and with a good view of the sea
We booked this hotel for a single night stay before visiting relatives. It was a pleasant room with all necessary facilities and very clean. The lounge and dining room had lovely sea views and there was entertainment in the evenings. We didn't eat an evening meal in the hotel as there were alternative places within easy walking distance. Unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy the leisure facilities but if we stay again i will certainly take advantage of the pool and sauna. Decor was fresh and the feature staircase and vestibule were beautiful. The hotel still needs some renovation but there was a feeling of opulence and grandeur about this imposing old building.
