A lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, our mattress was hard and sloped towards the middle. Apart from that, very good

Good location, Great City. One ComplaintPosted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: The Gym and the Pool
Cons: The BEDDING!!
Location: Hotel 2 k to city. Take the 4 bus and buy 380 pence ticket. other buses they will charge you more for the all day ticket. 2 shops nr by 4 basixs
Room is good for the the Uk, Clean and big. Great Fridge as well. Only complaint was the bed although huge (King) was way too hot, and there as no sheet so you either froze or boiled. It was 7 degrees outside and we had the Air con on ALL the time Great Fitness facilities as well the treadmills work (for a change) and the pool is great

DisappointingPosted May 1, 2015
Pros: location OK
Cons: Please give customers enough beds!!! Cleaning was almost negligible - hotel clearly understaffed in terms of cleaning, reception and bar staff
Location: near race course. 30 min walk to the main sights
Booked a room with 2 double beds (3 of us) arrived to find a room with one double bed only as an 'upgrade'!! hotel staff blamed expedia saying that with expedia room are not guaranteed. if this is true then we won't be suing expedia again. eventually they brought us a small single bed to cram in beside the double.

Convenient though not impressivePosted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, room size.
Cons: General condition needs to be brought up to 4* standards.
Location: Directly off motorway, 5 minutes to centre. Adjacent to race course. Only 10 minutes drive to Discount village, Tesco store just 2 mins away.
Good overall impression. Well located about 5 minutes drive from centre, and easily found from motorway. Free parking with plenty of spaces was a bonus, but wifi in rooms is extra (£15 per day). Room was comfortable, clean and came with kettle, trouser press and ironing board. Bathroom was modern and had a powerful shower. Nothing to complain about but the hotel could benefit from a refurbishment programme to give it a more contemporary feel. A bit expensive for what you get, but would consider staying here again if a good deal were offered. Family friendly.

Great hotel depending what room you getPosted Apr 27, 2015
The hotel itself is lovely. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. However, our room was very basic for the price and was next to the elevator ay the top. Right next to the machinery for the elevator. This made a lot of noise when the lift was being used which was constant apart from between 12 approx till around 5.30/6.00. Also, we noticed there was no hot water after a certain time. We hadn't actually asked about this. But even the cold water trickled.

Nice hotel, great facilities.Posted Apr 8, 2015
Stayed for a long week end, over the bank holiday. Leisure facilities have great opening times of 6am to 11pm which is really useful. Breakfast was a very good standard.
