“Mixed feelings”

The hotel rooms were immaculate and of a very high standard using high quality fittings and linen. However, little things were missing - a personal welcome, and local information. All the suites were at the top of a long flight of stairs and there was no offer of help to carry the cases to the rooms as there was no receptionist or other staff at either check in or check out.

The unit was fairly new and very clean. We had everything we needed-laundry, refrigerator, microwave, TV right at our fingertips. If we go back to this area we will definitely stay at this location.

“The Perfect Getaway Suites”

It is located in a beautiful setting in Bar-Harbor, Maine and is the perfect get-away from the big city hotels suites. The comfort level was excellent, as was the cleanliness and appearance of the suite itself. The owners were more than hospitable and the breakfast was awesome! The suites have been newly renovated and I could definitely tell that the attention to quality was very high. The rates were very reasonable, service excellent and the overall stay was highly satisfactory. I would recommend the Colonel's Suites to anyone!

“Mt Desert Island as it should be experienced”

Colonel's Suites is a pleasant B&B accommodation in quiet, secluded Northeast Harbor - or so it was in mid-June. By way of comparison Bar Harbor was excessively busy when we visited, with cruise ships in town. Our suite had a well-appointed kitchenette equipped with a Keurig brewer and coffee capsules (important to us...) and supplies were generous. The housekeeping was a bit casual however we encouraged that. The breakfast was ample and the servers enthusiastic. Parking (mentioned in other reviews) is on the vacant building site next door. There are plans to build so that may require consideration for bookings for next summer. The village market further along Main Street had a good range of groceries so the relative remoteness of NE Harbor is not an issue, even for an extended stay. I would be very pleased to stay at Colonel's Suites again.

“A Crown Jewel!”

Colonel's Suites is an emaculate establishment. Located above a wonderful bakery and Restaurant. The staff was wonderfull, helpful, accomodating and relaxed. We checked in at the bakery and they had our room key all ready for us. I could not resist the amazing pastry. If you like macaroons they are great! We parked around back and went up to the most perfect room! Everything was pristine...thoughtfully furnished with all the mod cons. After two days of camping in Acadia this was the perfect finish to our trip. After a nice walk though the village and harbor, we had dinner at the Colonels restaurant. The food was excellent, My wife who had some dietary restrictions was well taken care of. The waitstaff, of course was top notch. After a great nights sleep we went down for breakfast and again everything was amazing. The owner made it a point to see us to make sure we were well taken care of... I highly recommend Colonel's Suites and will definitly stay again. Simply outstanding!

“Quite the Surprise”

NE Harbor...quiet, and had character...Colonel's Suites was situated on a Main Street throwback to an earlier time. Built over a bakery, rooms were very comfortable and nicely appointed. Restaurant below exceeded our expectations. Morning breakfast was superb with outstanding blueberry pancakes, coupled with pure maple syrup...YUM! Great carbs for a Cadillac Mountain hike.10 minute access to Acadia Park entrances.

“Everything you could want - and more!”

We arrived in Northeast Harbor on a quiet, village street, checked in amid fresh bakery aromas and then were shown to our suite. Because our TV was not working properly, we were immediately upgraded by the owner to a nicer suite - everything about both suites was new, clean and tastefully decorated. The service throughout our visit was very good; the staff was always friendly and effecient. Our suite was quiet and comfortable with the location being nicely situated close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park for convenience. The Colonel's Suites is only a short walk to the harbor where we took an afternoon cruise around the Cranberry Islands - highly recommend that trip, too! Breakfast is included and was served in the restaurant downstairs. We had a nice choice of meals - with juice, coffee/tea, etc. all included. We were there for three days and enjoyed something different each morning! We also chose to eat lunch one day and dinner one evening with service, food and price quite good. My husband and I strongly recommend Colonel's Suites for a great get-away treat!

“Would recommend highly!”

Booked one night, stayed 3 nights. Large 1 bedroom condo. Clean and nicely furnished. Best of all it is located above a wonderful bakery and restaurant and bar. Yum, yum. Food was delicious. Washer and dryer located outside of units.
