Nice hotel close to most major sites if interest

Amazing stay at this lovely hotel, greatly enjoyed the tranquil setting & quietness of this resort right in the heart of the Tamar Valley. Looking forward to another visit soon!

Dark, Stuffy Cabin in the Country

Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Nice location in the country.
Cons: Most everything except the location.
Location: Cruise of the Tamar Gorge and River. Platypus House great to see.
This property is in need of upgrades. There was no air conditioning in the unit we had. It was very dark, and hot with few windows that would open. Wifi is basically non-existent except in the reception lobby sometimes. Reception closes at 9 PM. Laundry area was filthy and dryers take 2 cycles to dry and reception who provides change for laundry closes at 9 PM.

A summer break near Launceston

Posted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: It would benefit from an update
Location: It is in the countryside and a pleasant drive from downtown,
This hotel is set in what must have been the countryside but has new suburban neighbours. The rooms and facilities are fine but a bit tired and the place is decorated to style of a bygone era. Stand are friendly and helpful.

Relaxing stay

Posted Jan 2, 2014
Pros: Very peaceful/quiet. Relaxing.
Spent 2 nights here while visiting Tamar Valley area. Accommodation right at golf course. Very relaxing. At night you can see lots of stars. We did not get a chance to use the facilities much because we were on the road all the time. But they have treat facilities for golf& tennis. I wouldnt mind going back and just enjoy the facilities. Just down the road try the Tamar Ridge winery.

interesting place!

very twee place, a bit out of the way but comfortable, easy access with the car, not much storage but very quiet. Grindelwald shops dont open early & are not open later in the day so if you are out & about during the day you will not see anything
